I agree the halo stopped intrusion of tyre wall into where Max's helmet was, certainly more tough looking than the windscreen type used in Indycar.

I've become quite a fan of Sainz this year, he has shown a lot of growth as a driver and had some interesting battles this year. (I think VER, SAI and the alpha tauri team (both GAS and TSU) have shown the most growth in performance this year.
For me this is an important parameter, as for me it's inherent with sports. Not only to win, but to better your performance.

It was not far away from Senna's '94 San Marino car hit position except he hit concrete wall with virtually no safety features as the cars of today have, low tech helmet,no kers,halo,sponge cockpit surround, lower leg encapsulates,and of course the latest carbon fibre tub crash absorbing technology.

I think it might come down to crashes, DNFs and luck. Ferrari have two #1s on their hands IMHO. But, if I had to bet it would be on LEC. I think the team still favors him.

I've always like Sainz. Low flier who is consistent. LeClerc is more celebrated but I knew Carlos would take the fight to him when most expected him to be a back up driver

It will be a toss up as LeClerc is equally talented but I'm rooting for Sainz.
