Debadging is not rice. European BMW's have an option for emblem delete. The M5 had an emblem delete option for the US as well. It is just a cleaner look. I don't want to dig this stupid topic up, but it just kills me at times.
I think rice might be if you put an M3 or 335i badge on a 328. Just my opinion. Who cares about "rice" anyway, to each his own. If it's not your car why care? Some people get so wrapped up in others choices! I guess some people who drive their first BMW think the are special, and better than others. Pretty sad really...... |

Wow, most of you have no clue what "rice" means.
Rice is "fake fast". Anything designed to give the appearance of speed, while not actually increasing said speed. Some cosmetic mods do get labeled as rice if ricers use them enough... ie clear tail lights. De-badging is not rice. Throwing an M on a non-M car is rice. Blacklines are not rice. Giant rims could be rice, that depends on how they look. Some body kits are rice, some are not. All are rice if they are just primed. |

BTW I saw an de-badged M6 last week. It looked great!! There are enough M emblems on it anyway, wheels, side gills ect.
I guess this guy was just trying to make someone think he had a faster car right? Some folks on here are just so new to BMW, it makes me laugh. I can recall my Sport package E46 330i. It han an M shift knob, M steering wheel, and M emblems on the wheels. No big deal. That is the way it came stock. The new X3 with sport has all of those elements, plus M doorsills. Same with the 550 sport. The best example was the 318ti with the M-tech package, if any of you know what that was. Wheels, seats, aero kit, the works. It is not "posing" or rice, just an enhancment. BMW does these things from time to time, but if an owner does this it's considered rice or posing. Enjoy your first BMW, it really does make you better than the common people! My .02 |

I personally support everybody's car enthusiasm, whether I like their taste or not. All car enthusiasts are the same, they just execute their enthusiasm differently.
I really hope that you all understand that the OP was just trying to post something light and amusing. I believe it was intended as humor and will treat it as such. To me you know your BMW is a ricer when you spend more money on mods than the car was originally worth and when you are all done, it goes no faster, handles no better and is a worse car than when you started.

What is meant by ricer? I am implying it is a car of someone from Asian or Hispanic background? But, Im confused. I have been living in Asian and Latin America for 10 years and rarely saw cars that had any modifications. Now, being back in the US, I see alot of cars with terrible modications, but this country does not attract the best immigrants in the first place.**Disclaimer** this is not 100% but in general this is what happens.
I know of no Asian or Hispanic that would ever consider leaving their country and moving to the US. So, are these people actually ricers, or should they just be called Americans since this type of modifications only happens in the US and somewhat in Europe. |

I started this thread. It was a trick to see how many RICERS would post and obviously I am the worst of the bunch. I have all your names and email addresses. I will announce a huge BMW RICEFEST soon.

You know.. I wasn't going to get into a pissing contest with you over this. However, I noticed that you changed my name as you quoted me. So now I'm just going to speak my mind...
It's small dicked assholes like you that give everyone else in this country a bad reputation. Out to prove that you are a tough guy, talking shit on the internet, when in reality you are probably some 5 foot little big man, that makes himself feel better by talking shit on a medium that you know will never actually lead to you getting your ass kicked. I feel sorry for you, really I do. You know, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I had a civic, I fixed it up, it was pretty damn fast too. It was in Import Tuner, as well as the power pages of Turbo magazine. So I obviously wasn't the only one that liked it. I see you have an '86 Scirocco. You are obviously proud of it, and think that it was an awesome machine, good for you. I don’t like Scirocco's. That doesn’t mean that I am going to bash them, or the people that drive them. This thread is supposed to outline what you think is ricey. Not a thread to personally attack other members. The only reason I said something to the M3 driver is because he basically put down every member of this forum. Grow up a little bit. I have no problem with you. I don't like you talking shit about me personally. But you know what, if that makes you feel better, then go ahead. I am a big boy. I can take it.
