I think I like the sprint qualifying but too early to tell. I'd like to see 50km vs. 100km. I think that would really have everyone going for it. Today sorted out like a shortened race with the only surprise being Perez further back due to misfortune. Sainz had a great come back drive though. Hopefully tomorrow is a great race!

Strange . Because Checo confirmed in his latest interview that he spun in dirty air coming from the car in front of him .

Checo is a team player and not the type of person to cast blame (positive attribute). I’m sure turbulent air was a contributing factor but he got caught out by throttle application.

This is the distance to Lando right before the spin.

Checo isn’t made for sprint races, could be an absolute monster in the World Endurance Championship.

Max is driving at an entirely different level. Hammy’s scolding/panic to Bono on hitting the start specs and confusion about not being ahead is telling. And when did it become a thing to say “extra work in the sim” paid off, it’s your job to perform on the track, if sim work is required then just do the work.
If a student skipped a party before an exam to study, don’t come to me looking for a “that-a-boy” and a cookie.

Pretty sure Lando, LeCrash and Max live in the sim and Danny R just got one for his living room.

Silver arrows have the top speed, if Hammy gets out in front he will be very tough to pass.

Poor bottas, I’d love to see him with a competitive ride next year.

I quite like sprint qualifying!!! I normally watch free practice 2 on Friday but it's kinda boring. Sprint qualifying produces 3 days of excitement instead of just 2. Don't think I'd go through the trouble of heading to the track for a 100km race but it's good for TV. Ratings and money will tell if it sticks around or not.

I've also never liked the top 10 drivers having to start the race with the exact tires they qualified with in Q2. Exact specification maybe? Used tires no!

I understand cost cutting but be real. Tires aren't that expensive in the grand scheme of things. Drivers should never have to worry about saving tires or running out.

Give the teams 10 sets to pick from and let the best man win.

I kind of liked the sprint race too! I think making it a little shorter may even produce more excitement. Perhaps 10-12 laps instead of 17.

But what if there are a lot of crashes?
That could really impact results on race day, also for contenders that were innocent victims of the crash.

I don't know if I would still like the sprint race if MAZ would take out VER is some foolish way..

I'll just stick to the fact that Checo is good at one thing and that's the race and not so hot in set up and quali/P1 &2.

I think it may be to do with tyre wastage and re-cycling also I believe, that is being taken into account even in F1.

Definitely more than one stop there's no way one stop will win this race and as usual Max has it all on his shoulders with BOT being the 'slave' for hammy who will be used snidely.
