Yes, you're absolutely right, and Fiat was credited with the first VVT engine - but who built them on a large scale first? |

Who gives a shit? I don't buy cars because they were the first on the moon, I buy them because I like them and they work for my needs.

I will admit, the interior of the new Mazda is not bad at all (especially for a Japanese car), but honestly it's because it resembles the new BMW interiors lol.
Personally I like the clean sleek lines of the German interiors (except the last gen BMWs don't know what they were thinking) over the high-techy spaceship like interiors the Japanese like to do. Then again my friend (who drives a Prius) thinks the more touch screens the better, irregardless of design. That's why both Japanese and German automakers seem to find someone willing to purchase their vehicles I guess. I have owned several VWs (MKIV Jetta 1.8t, MKV GTI, MKV Jetta, 2011 CC) and can only recall a water pump going bad on my MKV GTI that was replaced under warranty. I also own an EX35 (which is great) that has only had to go into the shop once so far for some $50 part that blew up that I don't recall what it was. However its a 2008 with about 50k miles and the dash is already cracking, I've never had that happen to any car I've ever owned. The most unreliable car I have ever owned to date was my 2009 335i, I couldn't even tell you how many times that thing was at the dealer. |

Awww crap. Guess I'll go trade my BMW in for a Buick then. Because as everyone knows, only one thing matter when buying a car. And that's how reliable they are! I'll take a pic when I bring my Regal home.

Manufacturers skew those numbers. How do I know because I worked for 3 auto manufacturers in their IT dept on the warranty side of the house and we sent those numbers in based on what was wanted by the mother ship. And I suppose you believe Consumer Reports is totally unbiased as well?
