Very unlikely they will do the IBS recall repair for you. While parts are being shipped to the dealers the priority is for vehicles on the stop sale that will be used when the software is released on about Sept. 19th. Let us know though, perhaps they are shipping extra.

When I open the door on the sun visor to view the mirror, the light doesn't come on. The passenger side works fine. I know it's minor, but I would still like it to work. :-) It took me about 3 months to notice it.

I'll try to provide an update here regarding the status of the recalls on my vehicle after the service appointment.

I'm in the same boat. Car entered the country (UK) on 22nd July, was due to receive it early August but then the stop happened. All the sites i've tried say my car isn't affected but the dealer says BMW won't let them release the car as on the BMW system it shows as being affected. It's pretty annoying as i've had to extend my current lease car (non BMW) at a premium while i wait.

My I5M60 is at the dealer waiting for some news about what to do regarding the braking system ! No one knows until now what to do ! The dealer doesn’t know and also BMW is completely muted about this subject !

i5 Stop Sell

Hi

I am a new member. Over the hears I have owned 12 BMW's mostly X5's and 5 series. Recently, ordered an i5. According to the build website, my vehicle was built and it is now stuck in quality control. I am presuming being stuck in quality control is because of the stop sell. My Sales Agent is telling me that the parts need to complete the build will be available on Sept. 9th.

What is anyone else's experience with this.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Take what your CA tell you with a grain of salt. Without knowing your timing it could be you are in QC for something something totally unrelated.

For the stop sale vehicles parts are being shipped but that is not the issue as software is needed. That will be released by September 19th.

So does that mean that every vehicle that is being shipped, still cannot be distributed to their future owners, as the software related aspect of the stop sale Has not yet been resolved? Even those vehicles that have either not been constructed or are recently completed?

So I’m just learning about this from this forum…and I must say that after reading the letter they issued it’s pretty disappointing how BMW is handling it. Sucks for new buyers for sure, but as a current driver it will suck more if it affects you while driving.

First, why has BMW not sent the notice and info to existing drivers? I only found the letter by chance buried in the MyBMW app, under the Finacial Services link, when I choose “show Pay off”. I only started poking around because of what I’m reading here.

Second the letter says it is safe to drive, but be sure to tell anyone who drives your car about the issue in case it happens….so again if it is a risk enough that I need to alert other drivers in my household, why was it not important enough to send me the notice in the first place?

My car just arrived at the dealership and I’m picking it up on Tuesday. Production date is 27.08.

Congratulations! Which ICE model did you get? What are the specs? Sorry if you already posted this info, this is a long thread and I didn't want to go back 5 pages to find it.

What country are you in? I am guessing Europe?

I have seen a few cars there and yours looks the same where you can have the silver grill AND Iconic Glow.

I’m going to have to investigate a retrofit for the UK as here it isn’t possible. You have to take the black grill to get the light.

I'm in Poland and you can buy Iconic Glow as a standalone option to any grill. To be honest I bought it not because of the grill light but because i really wanted to have the light courtaine on the side (don't ask why &#128517.

No, doesn’t mean that at all. Vehicles produced the last few weeks are clear and some produced prior to that are being cleared by VIN based on the batch the parts came from.

I went to a BMWCCA event and the VDC in New Jersey today. I asked reps from BMW. They seem to think it will be this month.

BTW They had a 5 touring on display which I guess is an acquired taste.

At least your dealer said something. Mine is just saying I don't know. You'd think they'd know more considering the sales advisor doesn't make a dime till we actually take delivery.

I’m not sure about this. My car is having the issue multiple times a week. I took it in and it was diagnosed as the issue. I reached out today and as of now they do not have any eta on the part at all. He said the one for the i5 is different. Maybe he is wrong and i kind of hope so, but he’s been my advisor for years now. He said my VIN number still has a red dot next to it, whatever that means.
