My 550e is now on the Daisy Leader. BMW Genius indicates my vehicle left from the port of Zeebrugge vs. Bremerhaven as an interesting data point.

Does anyone have access to its Port of call until it hits Port Hueneme on Dec 4th?

Awesome! It’s always nice when a VIN appears and things seem more real. Just keep in mind that “Production Begins” only means their allocating and sourcing parts for your build. Once you see “Exterior Body Assembly begins” then that means it’s really being built.

Yep, actual assigned "build week" is the week after next (week 47). I assume I'm looking at March, give or take, to actually push the start button.

Take a look at this document I found on NYK line RoRo scheduling. It would appear that the only other stop is in San Diego.

The boats go to Zeebruge frequently before Bremerhaven, sometimes then go to Gothenburg. Please check the name of the boat with the Genius as the only NYK trip I could find from Bremerhaven to Port Hueneme is a different "Leader" "Centaurus Leader", and it is scheduled to leave Bremerhaven Nov 9 with stops back in Zeebruge (Nov 10-11), Southampton (Nov 12-13), Long Beach (Dec 6) an Port Hueneme Dec 7. Link to the NYK site here: https://www.nykroro.com/customer/schedules/

BTW whoever told you the car was loaded in Zeebruge is almost surely wrong, as as far as I know (and I have ordered and tracked many BMWs) BMW loads only from Bremerhaven.

Definitely have seen others on the forum report their vehicles being loaded in Belgium.

I’ll see if I can record the audio message from the BMW Genius line that says the port and the name of the ship as that is where I got my information.

Way back in February of this year a genius line person told me my car was loaded in Belgium. She even gave me the time of day it arrived there, and the time of day it was loaded on the ship. It sounded authentic, but I wouldn't really know how to tell if she was correct or not. I really have no reason to doubt the accuracy of what she said.

Well I will stand corrected. The NYK sites seem inconsistent as there does appear to be a Daisy Leader headed for the west coast, and if cars were loaded in Zebrugge (I've never seen that!) I will be doubly wrong. My 530ix was and every single car I ordered in the past that was produced at Dingholfing was shipped out of Bremerhaven (even if the boats stopped at Zebrugge either before or after Bremerhaven). Sorry for creating confusion but as I note the NYK site(s) strangely do not agree with each other.

edit: Did some research and BMW ships cars from the Regensburg plant by rail to Zebrugge. But the 5 series is produced at Dingolfing with some at Graz in Austria.

Well, my dealer phoned me after my lease has expired again and the news is...."we made a mistake, the car is still in Germany waiting to get on a ship....we think"

I have given up trying to follow where my car is. I am way into the lease now.

Can't you see where it is in the My BMW App? What does that show? If "in transit" it is on a boat. "At the port" appears twice, once when at the port in Europe and again at the destination port. (then it shows "in transit" again when on its way to the Dealer). The Genius line almost always has info more up to date than the dealer.

I have a delivery date!! I am getting the car next Friday.

Will be 2 months delay from it arriving at the dealer to handover.

This is my first time ever ordering a brand new car to spec and not buying off the lot, so it has been spoilt a bit, but as everyone says, I can get excited and enjoy it now.

First world problems and all that...

I can. It says in Transit. That is all I can see. Don't see "At the Port".
