I was only able to watch the first half of the Colts game before I had to come into work. Got in and it 28-24. FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU They played so well in the first half (against perhpas a shittier team, but hey i'll take it).

Combine the records of SF, DET, and BUF, and you get:

13-2.

WTF. What a good year for football. Hopefully they don't prove they're flukes, but I bet at least one of them will. I'm still not sold on the Lions getting to the playoffs, but they possibly could if teams keep handing them victories.

i know you're the Lions fan, but what NFC teams could fight for a wild card the way this season is going? Tampa?

Definitely a great year for football though!

Things will change. I think if we were to fast forward to Week 11, we'd probably see an entirely different picture.

Last time the Lions went 5-0, we didn't make the playoffs.
Last time the Lions went 6-0, we didn't make the playoffs.
(IIRC of course)

We also started 6-2 in 2007 and what transpired after that was a run of historically bad football.

We'll see. I'm optimistic, but reserved. We have some tough games coming up and a lot to work on. It would be great if we could get a good corner though, like... say... maybe Samuel?

It'd be nice, but he already won MVP fromt he bench once. Got benched in the Jets game couple years ago...were 14-0, second half brought in Painter...lost the next 2...Peyton won MVP haha

But seriously...would it be possible for a player to win MVP without playing a single down?

Should put him in if we ever get to a goalline situation to throw a TD pass and then back to the bench. 100% QB rating. MVP for sure. HAHA

There was a point in the SF game where he quit caring. What little emotion he used to show, is non-existent anymore. I'm pretty sure the breaking point was one of the sacks from Backus's side (I believe there were 11 pressure stats from his position alone that game). He went down and gave Backus the WTF stare and from that point on, he just didn't look like he cared. Even on the last drive of the game, no "damn it!" or "fuck!".... Like I've said before, no one outside of certain Jay Cutler episodes have I ever seen that emotionless as a QB.

Backus sucks. He's turrible. Add that to the fact that Cherilus, Peterman, and Raiola are also garbage at pass protecting, and you can see why we struggle against teams who have good DEs. They've figured out they can line up incredibly wide, and we probably can't do shit about it because when we run, we've got backs that are just terrible (minus Best I guess, but he's not a workhorse either). Losing Leshoure to that injury was the worst thing that could happen to this team. The Ronnie Brown trade would have been good because at least then our RB could actually physically punish LBs and safeties when they have to fill the gaps vacated by DEs and that are pushed out wide to optimize the pass rush.

Fortunately or unfortunately, that trade didn't pan out. Best should sit out at least the rest of the season for his own good.

Stafford has become a scared little bitch back there, probably for good reason. However, it has caused him to not set his feet in the pocket, and he's doing his best impression of Joey Happy Feet Harrington back there, throwing off his back foot and just looking way too uneasy.

The pass protection and Stafford are why we started 5-0 and their coordinated collapse are why we're 0-2 since then (despite the Vikings success rushing the passer, but they sucked too much to have it make a difference). Hopefully this injury allows Stafford to sit against the Broncos and then for the bye. Maybe he'll come back rejuvenated and not worrying so much about the worst blind side OT in the history of the NFL....

Hill did OK last year. I thought he was pretty good. Definitely better than Stafford over the past couple of games.... I think he deserves a shot, and Stafford needs to be reminded that he's no auto-lock as the starter. I think he's got the golden child syndrome, so much hype about how great he was going to be once healthy... well... he hasn't proven shit yet.

You know, as a Colts fan I had this stance when we did it or other teams did it.

Being on the receiving end though, there comes a point where you're just like seriously. Defense needs to step up and play for the millions they get paid and make damn stop. and i don't think the Saints ran it up. The last 14 points was an Int for 6 and their second string crew. That game was just an example of a completely demoralized team going into hostile territory. I was looking forward to this game and this game alone (save maybe for NE) before any news of Peyton's surgery came about.

They played their asses off and we didn't.
