it's all about how they grew up...parents have to introduce the kids to different food at an early age...otherwise they become stuck not eating vegetables and 'weird' food for the rest of their lives..its sad.

my parents fed me whatever they had and as a result i eat anything...

cant stand mayo...nastiest shit ever, also ricotta cheese and ive never liked milk, my parents used to make me drink it growing up but now ill only have it with cereal...other than those things ill eat pretty much anything you put in front of me

I highly suggest you find a recipe involving braised brussel sprouts and bacon. It will change your mind about them (or it might not, but I find them godlike now). One of the easiest, tastiest side dishes I can think of that goes great with ham, turkey or pork chops.

Meh, my parents tried like hell to get me to eat the foods I didn't like. I would try, not like, and not eat it. I'd go hungry if I had to. Once at day care the people were trying to get me to eat 10 peas before I could be excused, I told them, I've had them, I don't like them, and I'll throw up. They insisted, I had one, and I threw up.

While I eat a lot more foods now than I did, it's a slow process. I'm convinced it is not just a mental hurdle, there has to be some physiological connection. Though it isn't the food that's making me sick, eating certain foods don't feel right to the point where I will feel sick eating them. If that makes any sense. Like I said earlier ITT I tried one of those small tomatoes and if I didn't gag and spit it out, I would've thrown up.

I have one story like this.

Parents said I needed to eat my squash if I wanted to go to this water theme park called treasure island. I ate it in such small bites that it took too long, so I ate the whole thing and puked.

Got to go to adventure island in the end though. Can't remember how old I was...prob like 5 or something lol.

the smell of maple syrup is enough to make me gag. I've never tried it (that I can remember - I probably had a traumatic experience with it as an infant), but I'm sure the taste would induce vomiting.
