this makes me curious. you say hilarious and silly design school but you are going to minor in architecture. grads who go in architecture have it way easier than the undergrands who go through the full five years. how easy or hard it is will partially depend on you. if you will be satisfied with easy and not-so-challenging design products then i dont think you should be in this field.

the liability for careless design is not going to be worth it for you and your future client.

it maybe just as hard as sciences considering you have to think about structures, materials, psychology of people, geography, climate, etc, to be a good designer.

you really dont know that because you dont know what will happen to you in the future. if you end up managing an office then i doubt it would be relaxing (medical related or architectural). in architecture you have contactors, clients, construction managers, the city and the codes all over you.

frank gehry is way up there but i wont say he doesnt work harder than he did in college. look at the disney museum. gehry's office made their own software, hired consultants, coordinated construction and had to figure out many more things than he ever had to deal with when he was in college.

oh, and thesis projects do take months to finish. lots and lots of research before you even draw the first line of your design. there is also the revisions that projects have to go through before getting to the final product.

and here is a video for people who are thinking of taking architecture.

http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/7429337/

and before anyone misunderstand me after all of the not-so-fun things in architecture that i mentioned, i am doing architecture because i love drawing and getting involved in the whole thought process of designing. so good luck to anyone out there who is considering architecture.

respect any field that you want to get into. peace.

I love how pomp and overzealous pre-medical students tend to be. Chemistry is a difficult major but there are harder ones. Get over yourself, please. If you are finding it difficult to keep on top of your work as a pre-med, there is no way you will survive if you are admitted to a medical school (let alone as an intern or resident). Secondly, 90% of people who say they are 'pre-med' end up not doing into medicine due to a variety of reasons (although the most common is that they just can't cut it). I never boasted about being a pre-med like this.

Unless you plan on doing emergency medicine or landing a private radiology job (one of the most competitive specialties to get into, btw), your life WILL NOT get easier. Physicians typically work 50-60 hours a week, and this excludes other obligations (conferences, billing, paperwork, etc etc). Many specialties will require you to be on call x number of days a month, and in your free time you are expected to keep up with new medical literature.

I will tell you that as a physician and someone who has worked in business in the past, that your undergraduate years (regardless of what the hell you are doing) are your EASIEST years. So if you're struggling now, it's only going to get a heck of a lot worse, and maybe you should consider another career path.

College isn't that bad. I work 40 hours a week and take 15 hours. It's a bitch, but is totally worth the knowledge learned and the paycheck after that diploma.

Thank you sir. This is exactly what I was trying to tell the Princeton kid. His school is nice and everything, but I know harder majors/colleges then chemistry..he's a bit cocky and needs to come back down to earth.

Hell, my dad is 58 and is still working 60+ hours away and is on call every other weekend.. (Interventional Cardiologist) and my sister is starting her IM residency. Life just gets harder from here lol..

Dude get off your high horse, I'm sure you both work hard like everybody else. Work load doesn't really depend on your school so much as your major(s). And chemistry isn't exactly the top of the food chain..

+1

I really have no idea why this Ivy-boy thinks he's king-shit with a Chemistry Major. A Biochemistry student would shit on his workload. A Pharmacology student would make his Chemistry major look like a joke. A physiology student would tell him to sdfu.

And ironically, those other majors are also considered "pre-med" and probably give students a higher chance of actually getting in to Med School.

Exactly. I am pursuing a dual degree in mechanical engineering and applied math. This guy can suck it.

I would actually attribute it to overall dryness of the winter season, excess dust in the air, and seasonal allergic rhinitis leading to weakened nasal vessels and congestion. Probably exacerbated by excess blowing of my nose. But hey, whos counting.

ayyy yo helllll nawwww

i have nothing against learning, and i definitely like educated people, but I hate doing projects / studying / essays

i mean, if I become a rich entrepreneur before I go to University, then i'd just go to class to listen to the teacher (interesting classes, not math or english :P, ie. i like astronomy, psychology etc.)

you're really arrogant. your dad pays for all your shit, go get a job and supoort yourself and join the real world to see what life is really like. you complain about taking classes, try taking classes and having a job and even, for some people, raising kids.
