I used to put thin chrome or black frames on my cars, depending on the paint color. Unaddorned, thin sides, no logos or messages, only the edges of the plate are covered. Last decade now, I’ve stopped and just fasten the plate directly without any frame. The car can speak for itself. I like the minimalist look and don’t feel the need to add any window dressing or additional disharmonious elements which the plate already adds. California plate is boring, boring, boring plain. And people actually pay extra money to get the black and gold plate which I think is hideous, though I can see how a black car can benefit from the black background.

  2. Cup Holder Coasters
  3. Red Valve Stem caps.
  4. Black license plate frame.

The only items that are authentic BMW parts are the plate frames and the floor mats. The others are just third-party accessories.

I'm planning to get the windows tinted sometime this week, so I'll provide some more pictures once the tinting is done. Same thing when the HOV tags come in.
Are those foot rests with chrome original or also after market? Mine is pretty much all option but these came in plain black.

The metal on the pedals are stock, however I'm pretty sure they are part of one of the M Sport packages, so you would not get them if you don't get the right M Sport package (M Sport or M Sport Pro).

Those are cool looking! Did it make the seatbelts more comfortable? My mom always had something similar in her cars as she was all of 5’ 1/2” ☺️

Yes, they are very comfortable. You can slide them around to get the perfect spot. Sometimes, my seat belt will ride up and hit my neck. So far, these are holding the seatbelt in place.

Ok, I've got to ask. To which are you referring when you wrote this, "These are nice and soft."

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Yeah, I have tried to avoid that. I want it to look as "OEM" as possible. I put the M badges on the fenders because here in the EU, they come with them if the car is MSport Pro. There is no such thing (I wish there was) as an M540i, Like the M340i and M440i, and putting M on every corner of the car just seems tacky (Like the people who used to put "Turbo" badging on everything in the 80's) The key, I feel is keeping it both elegant and sporty, and not trying to pretend I have an "M Car", but to add those elements where they should be had someone not chosen to delete them, for some odd reason, from US Spec cars. Same with the sill plates. Had the cars come with them, I am pretty sure the MSport cars would have had M sill plates (Like the fender badges) and non MSport cars would have had regular BMW sill plates. So I had them put the M ones on.

As it is, I am pretty sure there are some purists out there who will see my car (when I get it to the States), and balk at the fender badges and say "Those don't belong, because the factory didn't put them there for US cars. This guy is a poser". Even if I could argue with them and say "Well, since I ordered my car in Europe, and it was delivered in Europe, and European spec cars came with them, technically they do belong there." They won't know that, and I'm not about to put a note on the car saying that. Lol.

However a License plate bracket doesn't seem too "M ed out" to me. It's not like you are putting an M badge next to the 540i and trying to call it an M540i. It is an MSport pro model after all.

The ones on the pedal I have. But on the most left foot rest I don't. My car is M Sport Pro.
But if they are original, I should be able to order them

That's odd, the left-most pedal is also stock on my car and includes the metal.

I share my accesories: most of them OEM, but some "Aliexpress Performance"

I ordered the M trims for the doors and the rubber mats at BMW (They were new, and I wanted to inmortalize the moment. As I suspected, they don't look clean any more)

But I've also bought rubber bags for the doors. They could be black but I ordered them in mocca to contrast... we came here to play! They cost 15€.

They fit quite tight and at least, the keys don't tickle anymore. How easy will have been for BMW have mounted something similar as standard equipment!

So a 550e in M Sport Pro trim is not built with trim on door sills?

I put the M fender badge day one when hot car. We put European plates why not the M badge.

Mine is a month or two away as well. No door sills, no real exhaust ports, no soft close doors, no massaging seats, uni-colour side skirts, no active roll stabilization, no ambient air, less switch gear. The cost saving program is in full effect.

At first I wanted it black, as it is not original, I thought it would be less visible. But I like the way it looks.

I also like they can be easily unmounted for cleaning. The shape of the bag of the door is very irregular and is not very accesible for cleaning it.

I’ve got to ask, because you mentioned a new one that I haven’t heard before. What was “Ambient Air”? In my mind that mean a fresh air vent option in the climate system, but perhaps this references something different?
