I now have a company vehicle for commuting, and the M760i is my weekender. The company vehicle was the catalyst. Prior to company car I never could justify the idea of owing and driving a weekender for practicality reasons. I'll be keeping the M760i for a long time. |

The 328 is my daily so I can weekend my Wrangler. But at 270,000 miles I don't trust the Jeep to get me anywhere on a schedule except the beach.

Until I sold my M2C for trade on a M4C (waiting on that now) the M2C was my summer/weekend car. My winter car is a 2010 328i xDrive. At least I have a fun car to drive while I am waiting it out!

My last couple were super nice, and I wish I had both back, even though they were red. |

Nice choice for a dream combo. I've never seen Baltic blue in person, but looks like a great color for the car. My favorite is Fiji blue, and currently have an 88 in Figi that will get a full resto-mod for street use, and 2 others that are rather special/unique. They have always been rare, but are now unheard of. |

It's not a special color IMO, just rare. It looks like Ford blue to me. |

I inherited this one from my dad who passed away a few years ago. It was his third Jeep and unfortunately did not get to enjoy it for long so I keep it just the way he left it to me.

That one seems to be a Euro-spec and an 87 (non SHP wheels). I thing that color was available in 87 and 89 in the US. If you are truly looking for a nice one, one came up for sale recently at ~32K miles, but it's red too. You can't have mine |

No exact data on specific color production numbers was kept, but there were less than 10 Balt Blue cars, some white cars as well. Most were R04 Mexican Red, but that was every year. Balt Blue is sometimes referred to incorrectly as Tahoe Blue because of a Chrysler manual it appeared in, but the Conquest never came in that color, and the correct name is Balt Blue. I'm not looking for another one at the moment, I have no space. I have pictures of a USA Balt Blue car on my computer at home. Hard to find that stuff in google searches now. |

I only own fun cars that are limited use. Work from home.. the 911 pretty much only comes out to go to the track or the mountain twisties. The M2 is as close to a daily as I have but realistically I only drive it 2-3 days a week.

Nice, is that a lost twin or cousin?! Haha, looks great for that many miles. Looks like he kept good care of it. Sorry for your loss, but it is a nice way to remember your Dad. I also lost my Dad a couple years ago .

Having a weekend car is great because I can get a sports car that doesn't have to compromise on the driving experience. My Miata perfectly counterbalances my daily. It's cheap, reliable, and features all the things I love that you can't really get in modern cars anymore (cable throttle, fantastic manual, hydraulic steering, etc.)

I've never had a weekend car, but I've had "rainy day" appliances to use when it rains or when I need to shuttle more than one. But I never had a car only to be used on the weekends or special occasions, I've just had other vehicles for practical reasons...or because I didn't feel like cleaning my fun car so I'd drive the appliance if I expected rain (or ice, or snow, etc.).
But now, with multiple ride-sharing apps which don't seem to be going anywhere and the advent of Turo, I'm no longer keeping a car simply for practicality. It'll be cheaper for me to simply rent a car (or use Uber/Lyft) when I need to drive multiple people around, or if a major storm is coming. Owning an SUV or sedan 365 days/year just to have it for when I need to move or haul people is no longer making fiscal sense with car payments, insurance fees, increased emissions regulations, etc. And now I just drive my fun cars in the rain and clean them up afterward. So, I'm going all in...only fun cars for me from here on out. I'll rent the proverbial appliance when I need it (or I'll borrow from family or friends). |

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

So I joined the weekend club earlier this year, I was very torn on the issue as I have one garage and I am a bit of a tight arse. So far, the car itself is excellent on good roads, it is not a fan of rough, shitty roads and unfortunately that is what I have around me. Regardless, it has been a lot of fun with the top down and kiddies on board.
I will say, as much as I like having something a bit special, I am not yet 100pc sure this is the right way to go. Option 2 is to sell my DD (13 yr old Saab wagon), sell the 997 and buy a compromise like a stang vert or a e92 vert and DD that. |
