A base Genesis 4 cylinder, rwd SUV (??), in my mind not close to being worth $62k.

To compare to the luxury market - The seats are quite nice, with that said they do not compare to that of mercedes or the genesis, etc. Now we do not have the most upgraded seats they offer, I believe they offer Nappa Leather in the SX models that I did not get a chance to sit in. I really have no complaints as to how it drives, with that said luxury model suspensions do seem a little more plush as compared to the telluride. Don't get me wrong, the ride is still quite nice, just not as dampening. It doesn't have some of the more modern features like heads-up display, interior ambient lighting, etc. But it has everything I would want for my fiance, blind spot monitoring, lane departure assists, even follows the lanes on the highway by itsself as long as you have your hands on the wheel. Dual sunroof would be nice, again believe this is offered on the SX model. Engine - I am actually a fan of this engine. Peppy enough when you want it to be, and does solid on gas. On our 700 mile trip home, we averaged 27mpg. Roughly 28 or so through DC/VA in some light traffic, and around 26mpg cruising at 80mph down south. And it seems to pair well with the transmission, again no clunkyness, everything meshes well. As I get the opportunity to drive the car more I can provide more information, fiance has been hogging it so far this week lol. |

I cant get a Telluride SX in Atlanta for MSRP. Just sayin. Also funny to see people on a BMW forum knocking other brands for falling apart and depreciating... ![]() |

They drive really well for the price. In my recent test drives the only thing better was a Cayenne and an X5. Both much more expensive. They are sharp as hell. |

I doubt they are purposely limiting supply as I don't see you benefit from it in the long run. Kia sells them to the dealer at a set price, demand drops over time. When it comes to sales numbers for Q4 2020 it was mid pack (some don't seem to have reported yet) - https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2020-u...sales-figures/ Buick Enclave 12,338 Chevrolet Blazer 23,243 Chevrolet TrailBlazer 17,265 Chevrolet Traverse 41,533 Dodge Durango 0 Ford Bronco Sport 22 Ford Edge 19,483 Ford Explorer 39,927 Ford Flex 159 GMC Acadia 21,378 Honda Passport 7,558 Honda Pilot 20,757 Hyundai Palisade 22,078 Hyundai Santa Fe 30,337 Jeep Grand Cherokee 0 Jeep Wrangler 0 Kia Sorento 8,770 Kia Telluride 18,680 Mazda CX-9 7,226 Mitsubishi Montero Sport 0 Nissan Murano 0 Nissan Pathfinder 0 Subaru Ascent 11,096 Subaru Outback 29,676 Toyota 4Runner 42,225 Toyota FJ Cruiser 0 Toyota Highlander 70,975 Volkswagen Atlas 0 Volkswagen Touareg 0

I am interested in seeing the link as I am surprised. Also interested in hearing how this helps their business overall. It will help resale some but as many on this forum said they find the idea of paying over MSRP gouging by the dealer and wouldn't consider it and would go somewhere else.
I also wonder if this is marketing or reality "buy it now as we are limiting supply". Kia/Hyundai/Genesis also sell many of their vehicles for far under MSRP so I wonder why they limited supply on this one. I looked at pricing on a Kia Stinger and it seems to sell well under MSRP.

Nice. I got mine in 2015 for under MSRP too but people were willing to pay markup at the time.

One of my buddies in college had a 2008 (sub 10 yrs old at the time) Kia. The thing was more dated inside and out than an 80's bmw. 12 years ago they were 3 decades behind the competition so I fully agree seeing them selling 42k cars for 47k is insane to me. |

I used to work at a Kia dealership. Customers were actually willing to pay $5k-$7k markups on the SX-P Tellurides. The LX Tellurides had a $2-$3k markup. Same with the S. I think the EX and SX had a $4k-$5k markup and the SX-P had a $6k-$7k markup (depending on the dealership) There's no way in hell I am paying 60K for a damn Kia

![]() There's no negotiation or rebates on any Telluride either. When I worked at Kia (2019-2020), the only rebates you got on the Telluride was $1k rebate (if you ordered) which later down the line Kia got rid of. In that case, any Telluride that's on a dealer's lot is (and still are) marked up. So, you ended up paying $2-$7k extra on top of the sticker (depending on what Trim level Telluride you opted for). If you ordered one, you would pay sticker. There's hardly any Kia dealership that will Negotiate on a Telluride. Since they're still hard to keep on the lot. |

![]() X5s are great as a lease vehicle in warranty. There is a reason you can pick up a 3 year old $85k X5 for $35,000. 🙃 |
