They realize it's a case of Islamophobia that played a role in the knee jerk over-reaction but given that no charges were filed, he's received support from hundreds of thousands of people, and received positive reinforcement from academia, NASA, and the White House.

We can all pretend that one day someone will wave a magic wand and racism, homophobia, islamophobia, etc will disappear but unfortunately they won't and if they did they'll be replaced by another form of discrimination. Unfortunate this teen learned that at age 14, but at the end of the day, the ignorant ones who think this sort of behavior is ok will be outnumbered by the ones who don't. Given the sympathy and outreach this teenager has received by people all over the world, including evil, big, bad America, then I'd say yes, given the terrible and unfortunate circumstances, the situation ended well.

Unless you want to advocate we time travel and prevent this from happening.

And if it were my son, I'd not place the digital clock in the metal case since it does resemble those Hollywood bombs you see in Bond movies.

Nope came here when I was a kid. And I'm a US citizen/w military service under my belt. So I do believe I earned the right to say that this is my country. Do you tell people that you are British or is that no longer the PC thing to say?

Yes they were he first but then you came and hanged them their ass because they didn't yet quite get the handle on that whole gun powder and musket thing..
