The cars are not refined which also goes completely against driving one every day.

The OP's comment, and yours as well, about the long nose is a personal thing. It is what it is. I personally hated looking out over that damn thing as it was very tough to judge distance although if you keep it long enough (I didn't as I had mine for about 6 months) you will probably adjust.

I use the term lumbersome when describing the engine feeling in the Vette. You feel that all the way inside the c0ckpit of the car. A lot of shake in first and second gear. Much different feeling than an M car, AMG Benz or Porsche and one that I did not enjoy.

Personally, I'd never own another one. Just does not have the driving characteristics I like in a car. Doesn't mean its not a good car ....just not my cup of tea.
Yet thousands of people are daily driving their corvettes(c7). Again the car is for a certain type of person. Who doesn't need or care about refinement or tire noise. Just go over to corvette forums, plenty of happy people. besides the problems with the A8 transmission.

If i was older and had a family. Ya the corvette makes noises, and its not refined. its also had no space. I wont buy one.

But its a head turning, sexy, loud fast car. last thing i would care about is little tire noise. But i can understand guys here who are looking for more of a professional, refined car.

I've been daily driving my C6 with z51 shocks for 3 years and honestly it's a very comfy car IMHO even in socal. Then again I'm also 100% fine with daily driving a z4m coupe.

I think the "head turning" days of the C7 are over. It is still a striking car, but now they are everywhere, and the design has aged a little faster then I expected it to. And as much as M cars have a driver stigma, the Corvette takes the cake when it comes to predetermined views of what that particular car owner is like.

The Z06 is a true Supercar Killer and I would love to own one. Outside of the Ford GT, I would say it's the greatest American car ever made.

Yet the Viper Acr is still the ring record holder amongs all these heaps and can be had for less...

Before I got my M4, I was daily driving C5 and C6 Z06's for 12 years. No issues whatsoever and mine were lowered and modded. They make great daily divers and are a blast to drive.

Interestingly enough, I've been shopping 2016 viper acr's w/extreme aero package all day today and got it down to 120k. They're surprisingly cheap and attainable, yet I'm not sure I'm going to pull the trigger just yet. I keep thinking a c6z z07 package would be a better fit for me at 1/3 the price. That and I get to keep my 997 gt3 and f80. Vs selling the gt3 for the acr.....still undecided.

Forget the c7z give me a viper ta any day of the week at the same price point!!!

That would be a legit trio!

Keep the GT3 around for investment/show and shine purposes, hammer on the C6Z on the weekends and daily the F80

$120k for ACR with extreme aero sounds like a very nice discount. That stickers at around $135k depending on options, correct? I'd been lurking for sometime on the Viper forums trying make a decision on my next upcoming car.

I agree, given all the overheating issues with the C7Z06, the Viper is the call in this performance and pricing area. Are they offering discounts on the TA 2.0 as well?

I do agree with corvettes in general losing that magic they had that first year.

But i still think a Z06 is going to turn more heads than a BMW M car. because of how many non M cars are on the road. People just view a M3 as a BMW. Where the corvette is viewed as a corvette. But thats a subject you can debate all day.

End of day putting aside what people think. The corvette is just for a certain type of person, at a certain point in there life. I think they are fun cars, that look good.

only down fall is the mass amounts of old guys driving them, and the chevy build. I think a better car to buy is a Viper.

I agree with your age related Corvette comments but I truly think the C7 is changing that perception. I would say the median age of a C7 driver is lower than any previous generation that I can remember.

The Z06 100% turns more heads than almost any BMW I can think of. i8 would be only car in the running.

When talking about US built cars, the C7 Z06 is the GOAT.

If I were to get a C6 Corvette again, I'd go with a ZR1. I've seen them selling in the high 50's/low 60's. 638 HP and a bulletproof engine. If you're into tracking it, with the proper tires I'm willing to bet it will beat a C7 Z06 around the track. I'd put money on it in a straight line as well.

For 77 it's hard to beat. I drove a student's Z07 package Z06 at the track a few weeks ago and it was awesome. The power is nuts, so much torque everywhere, the sound is awesome and the carbon ceramic brakes had insane initial bite and felt like they could slow down the rotation of the earth. I think the Z07 pack is a must if it will see track time.

He was a beginner so we didn't push the car and it was cool outside but it didn't have any hiccups or overheating issues that day. I really liked the car to be honest and was in line to buy one early on but they had a lot of ordering limitations due to parts shortages meaning I couldn't get the config I wanted so I passed.

Straight line maybe, track no way. New Z06 has way more grip and aero. At high 50's it's the performance bargain of the century though. They also run hot in hot weather but don't go into limp mode, local guy says his hits nearly 300F oil temp when flogged in the TX summer!

I'll have to bow to your better knowledge on the track times. I'm not a track guy so I can't say for sure. I just assumed with proper tires it could. At least give it a run for its money anyway.

I think it would be close but the Z06/Z07 will still have an edge, until it goes into limp mode

Yeah a 13-20 miles canyon run in my C6 in typical Socal temp 75 has my oil temp at 260+ and I don't see redline much in the twisties...I can only imagine on an open track in 100+ degrees how much hotter my oil temp would get, and I'm just n/a with the LS3

Weird, isn't it? I have quite a few friends in Europe, and if you ask them what kind of car they'd love to have, many of them name sort of American muscle car or Corvette.

The acr's are selling at invoice with no negotiations right now. And the lead time is only 3 month if you were to 1of 1 it. I haven't looked too much into the ta2.0 but the non acr's seem to be going for a little below invoice

Which dealers are doing ACRs for invoice? I looked some and was only offered MSRP.
