Nice thread. Here's my list:
1987 SAAB 900 turbo. Bought used in college 1992 with 105K miles. Sold in 1996 with 218K miles. Fun while it lasted. Heavy ass car and looked like a turtle. 1994 Mazda Miata - Most bullet proof car I've ever owned. Fun as hell and autocrossed it. Died a violent death when parked in NY city. 1996 E36 BMW 325is - Fun car. Great handling. Maintenance ran about 1500 per year after 2002. Always something wrong with the electrical system - i.e. check engine light, seatbelt light. Needed a 4 door so I traded in for current e90 2004 Lexus RX330 - Wife's current car. Comfortable, reliable, and BORING. Just the thing for a family hauler. Cars I've rented when on away assignments (driven for at least 2 months or longer on expat assignments) Had to be at least mentionable -i.e. A ford Taurus is about as exciting as white bread. 1994 Dodge intrepid. Cab forward design. Fun and fast american rental vehicle. Had one for 7 months when I was on assignment in Houston. My only complaint - cab forward caused windshield to have shallow angle. Glass design/manufacturing made view distorted. 1995 Ford Mustang GT - Fast as hell in a straight line. Scary as hell when taking turns quickly. Nothing gets as beat up as a car that is being paid for by the company. Hated the "bucket" seats - uncomfortable. 1996 FIAT Punto - POS that was my assigned car when I was in Venezuela. When taking mountain switchbacks, fuel pump would fail at certain angles. Did you know that red lights are optional in south america (after 5 PM) and that waving out the window with the intention to change lanes gives the right to cut people off?!? Scary place to drive until you realize that everyone just watches for the car(s) in front and could care less about the cars in back. :rocks: 1999 Isuzu Rodeo - Suprisingly fun for an SUV. good space, handling, and ride. Found out that Honda made it (aha) Went all over Boston/NE region when I was assignment there. 2001 Hyundai Sonata - Used on my Asia assignment in Korea. Hyundai make the best fake wood out there... Actually - Pleasantly suprised given the bad rep they have here in the States. And my favorite so far - 2006 BMW e90. Fast, fun, and great handling after 2 1/2 weeks of ownership. We'll see how gracefully it ages.

My first car was the redesigned 2005 Subaru Legacy. In fact, I still drive it! It looks gorgeous and it handles well.

I know I am goint to get the sh!t paid out of me, but here 'tis:
Early Ford Cortina - Had fins on the back! Very scary car to drive, got it when I was 17 1983 Subaru Sherpa - 2 cyl, 800cc engine and 57MPG, very cheap to run when you are a uni student, and I managed to wind it up to 140Km/H a couple of times. 1982 Ford Laser - Great car, basically a Mazda 323. 1992 Mazda 121 - Price Waterhouse didn't pay their grads well Managed to drive from Adel to Sydney (1400km) on $AU120 of fuel! 1989 Mazda 323 Astina - Pop up headlights, roomy, smooth to drive and perfect for low flying, got booked doing 151Km/H in a 110 zone and managed to keep my licence! 1982 Ford Meteor - I HATED this car. Product of a relationship breakup, always fantasised about it being stolen 1994 Mazda 121 - They are like roller skates, you need one for each foot 1997 Honda Civic Coupe VTI - Great car, well built (in the USA), bought it because of the BMW like rear end, and because hardly anyone had one in Australia, so it was a cool car. First company car. I used to joke it was painted in "stealth" paint because for some reason it went through speed cameras and I didn't get tickets... 2001 Audi A4 2.0 - NOT painted in stealth paint, and the most "photographed" car in Adelaide. Off the second boat load to arrive in Australia. Great car, have loved this one the most of all... that is until the arrival of my next car... 2006 BMW 325i - They give licence demerit points for speed camera fines here now, wonder how long I will keep my licence for?

This is quickly becoming my favorite thread.
Tape - are you a recent BMW employee? I noticed no other BMWs in your stable (previous or otherwise) Jamie - Nice to see a fellow ex big 6 (down to big 4) My guess is that your license will be hanging by a thread. The BMW is stealthy fast. I've hit 90MPH without realizing it on highways. It's that smooth.

1965 - Ford Mustang 200ci I6/3sp auto/No AC. (highschool)
1989 - Jeep Wagoneer Ltd 4 liter (parents gave me the car so I could make the 8hr drive to college on my own and get around in the snow). I had the Jeep for 8 yrs. 1999.5 - Jetta. Great fun car. Was going to run keep it until it died if it wasn't for a hailstorm turning it into a golf ball. Sold the Jetta in June 2003. 2003 E46ZHP - Lease ..yea yea..leasing is for wannabe's, and it's alittle irresponsible. Fortunately, my lease will be up in June 2006, and I will prob pick up something more practical. My car has been a blast to drive, but I have more important thing to spend my $$ on these days. |

Right back at ya mate. Who did/do you work for? Funny thing is that the division of PW I worked for was called MCS - Management Consulting Services, so each time I see your handle, it hits me!

Former employee of Andersen Consulting AKA Accenture in their consulting division.
Great place to start a career, develop some skills, and travel/work with different clients. Downside is the travel after the marriage. Decided that consulting and raising a family did not mix and got out about a year and a half ago. Never made it to down under(although I wanted to!). I was leading an APAC deployment team for one of my clients and sent ane of my lucky team members to Sydney for 3 months. This was 4 years ago and she still thanks me to this day. Handle is my initials, not very creative. Cheers!

Pricey Whorehouse was the same with the travel thing, they used to make people travel more after they got married. Nearly got a job with Andersen, but the PW people got back to me first.
Sydney is great, used to live there, you gotta go.

eimSD - Nice to see another big 6/4 refugee. Accidenture has over 75K employees now, and the attrition in consulting was always in the teens, especially as people got married, had kids, etc.
Great culture & people. I still manage to see some of my friends who are still there/have left. Back to topic - Choon - How's the power delivery in the WRX vs the 330? WRX are fast/fast/fast, esp high in the rev/powerband. Was there a lot of turbolag?

1983 Mercedes 300CD Turbo Diesel Coupe!
I was 17 - couldn't have had a safer car = it must've saved my life a few times. 1995 Mercedes E420 - MINT. I don't think anything was built better when they first made these things (1986). Too bad my current Benz is nowhere near as solid (the CLK55) Others: 1986 Porsche 944 turbo - real fun ride but sure was expensive to run 1995 Ford Escort - surprisingly OK.. 45mpg on the highway and UGLY as hell. I loved it 1995 Toyota celica GT - my lame rally car... Next... E92 M3 - 2008 sometime. |

Nice collection, Holsen... You're right about that E420. I was a valet back in the '90's, which gave me an opportunity to drive a lot of different cars... I can still remember how SOLID those Benz's were back then.
