Lol....It's 1:30AM here EST....or was when I left. Now 5:30AM.

Plus I bet I will probably be going back when the wife wakes up. Hopefully I get the grass cut before she's ready to go. Maybe I will do forearms and calves since I haven't did them in awhile!

As my consistency of GETTING to the gym has picked up in recent weeks, so has the weight I'm pushing around.

Was nice on Sunday afternoon, sun out, shirt off at Muscle Beach. I found the perfect spot where the light was hitting just right while facing the mirror, and I could get heat both front and back. Busted a nice sweat on shoulder raises, then hit the pool to cool down before picking the wife up for sushi dinner.

Well that is very impressive. 350 is a hell of a bench especially when pausing. Sounds like backing off from the heavy stuff and increasing your calories while slowly working back into it is working very good for you.

You will be at 4 plates before you know it if you keep playing it like this! My last 4 plate bench was probably 4 years ago. Before I started my diet...I was in the 365 range and that was "touch and go".

But I have pulled back some as I don't want to injure myself while eating at a lower caloric intake! So I have limited myself to 315 at my heaviest...then a drop set of 275, then rep out 225.

I difnt feel anything in my shoulder the day of but have had some trouble now after and unsure if related but couldn't raise my arm above shoulder level for couple days. Felt worse however after I did back the next day and did some new moves. Yeah 350 is decent pr for me. Havent ever been there except with a single ply bench shirt almost 20 years ago

So today was back day. Heavy dead-lifts, Pendlay Rows, Weighted Pull-Ups (which have gotten a lot easier since I have been losing weight) and some pull-overs.

But what impressed me to write about was I watched a guy come in I haven't seen before. Found out he usually comes in and is gone before I get there.

But the guy has to be around 65+ years old and was doing Incline Benches. When I seen him load up the bar with 225...I started taking notice in case he needed someone to help him as we were the only ones in the gym. He did 3 reps with it...and I figured he was done.

Apparently he was warming up. He then loaded another "quarter"...and did 5-6 sets of 6+ reps at 275 lbs. Honestly...it just blew my mind.

Mad props to him. He was in shape, but nothing that looked out of the ordinary to make you think he was pushing that type of weight!

Nice....I had chest this morning. Since I have dropped my calories as this is my last week of prep before we leave for vacation...I have cut back the weights some and the last 3 workouts over my programming have basically been "Pump" workouts. Higher reps, lower rest times (60 seconds), and just pushing as much blood into the muscle as possible.

On Thursday, I will drop my water intake and then go into full recomp starting the day we hit the beach. At that point the muscle will be soaking up everything like a sponge. Add some sun, and vascularity starts coming in so hard it looks like your skin is thinning!!

Then I get to lay on the beach and get constantly asked by my wife...Why do you want to look like that...who are you trying to impress??

Last year I told her it was just nice to be my age, pull off my shirt, and be able to hold my own!
