yea sakuraba is nasty, iirc he was the last person to submit Rampage before Jones this past weekend. The problem w/ a lot of these guys is their stand up isnt as sophisticated for the UFC, which is why all these Japanese fighters dont do so well when they get to the UFC and in some cases they get there too late due to the lack of exposure

Sakuraba is a true warrior in every sense of the word. It's really a shame he didn't take more precaution selecting fights, say at his more natural weight class of 170, rather then fight total beasts all the way up to Heavyweights like a prime Crocop. The Arona fight was so disheartening to see him take a beating like that.

Pretty boring fights tonight.
Brenneman's fight stopped too short but I think it just made the final outcome much quicker. AJ looked tough and strong tonight and just manhandled him. Good to see Cruz tested, seemed a much tougher opponent for him than Faber was. Either that or he had an off night.

can't believe you thought the fights were boring, couple of horrible ref calls though. Like the Brenneman was a bit early, although it was well of its way of being over. Shane Roller def got robbed though, he was no where near close to tapping, shame cause him and TJ Grant put one hell of a fight.
Matt Wiman and Mac Danzig was very entertaining, and so were most of the undercard. Michael Johnson looked great till the fight went to the ground. Too bad Mighty Mouse couldn't stop the takedowns, he clearly had an advantage on the feet, Cruz couldn't deal w/ his speed, his funky foot work did not work what so ever. Toughest test for Cruz so far, not even Benavidez had so much success. Mighty Mouse would be insane at flyweight |

Last night fights were awesome, especially free. I believe the Danzig and Wiman fight has to be nominated for Fight of the Year. Great back and forth fight and fast pace.
Didn't catch the undercard but the ones televised were entertaining. Rumble Johnson blasted Brennenman with a lethal kick and Struve technically outmatched Barry with sneaky submission. Cruz I think broke Johnson's cheek. good stuff! |

Good night of fights - the fact that they were free makes them that much better! I think Struve could have wrapped his leg around Barry's neck twice that's how long they looked! I thought Barry was going to take it after he tagged him, but oh well.
Next week we have "UFC136 - Thank god it's over" - I can't wait for the Edgar / Maynard saga to be over. |

Wow that's big news. I predict Jones beating Rashad regardless but I think the longer Rashad leaves it, the smaller his chance is getting to beat Jones.

I'm of the believe Machida won the fight against Rampage but either way, I have always said LHW is a pretty weak division at the moment, Phil Davis is really the only young up and comer. There's no real threat for Jones, Machida may be one of the few bad match ups and maybe Rashad. If we can see a consistently healthy Shogun, then I would throw him in the mix as well.
Jeremy Stephens claims he is going to "destroy" Pettis, can't wait for that fight! |

I don't think the LHW division is weak, just that Jones is too far ahead of the rest. All the other guys could lose to each other on any given day except Jones looks invincible right now. I'm not sure what the formula is to beat him.
Interesting reading his latest comments about Rashad ducking him. |

UFC 136 was AWESOME!! Outstanding night of fights!
Gotta love Anderson Silva being called out by Sonnen.. "Anderson Silva, you absolutely suck. Super Bowl weekend … the biggest rematch in the history of the sport. I’m calling you out, Silva, but we’re upping the stakes. I beat you, you leave the division. You beat me, I’ll leave the UFC forever." |

136 was truly an outstanding card. sanman, you need a FB account asap, you have no idea what you are missing there!
much props go out to Joe Lauzon, think every single person in the world had him loosing the fight and to go out there and destroy one of the top 5 LW was truly impressing. edgar v maynard 3 was just as epic as 2, amazing fight sonnen looked spectacular, i expected more from stann though |

I saw every fight except Pettis' fight.
Lauzon looked very good, considering Guillard has been taking everyone out in the 1st round. I have give it to Edgar, that kid has some heart. 2 times in a row he takes a vicious beating in the 1st round and comes back, except this time he tkos Maynard for the win. Still laughing at Sonnen's call out of Silva, hope they make that fight happen
