It's hard to beat the classic Austin-Healy 3000 (or its predecessor the 100) for classic British design.

Here's a '59.

On my wedding day in 2012 at a nearby resort, an Austin-Healy club of some kind was also having a shindig there. There must've been about 20 Healys of various vintages including some 100-4s and/or 100-6s, plus some absolutely gorgeous 3000s. The wedding and reception were important and I had to pay attention, but the Austin-Healys were distracting. The next day, the whole gaggle drove by my house which is on a nice winding country road.

Mystery 1950s convertible photos from Facebook. The rear shot almost looks like an Alfa badge, but I'm skeptical. Anyone care to venture a guess? Whatever it is, it's nice!

You weren't far from the thruth.

"West Coast businessman Sterling Edwards, who was already a successful racer, wanted to build his own cars as well. Drawing on Italian performance cars like the Cisitalia for inspiration, Edwards hired Norman Timbs to help design the car. Ace mechanic Phil Remington of future Shelby American fame also worked on the project."

Here is my dream car, considering relative affordability. I think a "regular" F430 may be in my future - I have been actively looking for some time. But this one, being a gated 6 speed, will be way out of my league. Plus this car dealer typically charges a heavy premium, but he has top-line cars as well.

It isn't the typical Ferrari red with tan interior, although I would take that too! But this color combination just struck me....

For sale here

Daytona seats with interior leather in cuoio (saddle) -- gorgeous! Red would be nice, too. There is definitely a price premium for a gated manual. Speaking as a neutral observer, I think you should consider selling a kidney or something and getting it.

Certainly not as much car as that F430, but there is a 360 Modena Spider for sale on ferrarichat.com with a gated manual. The color combination also does not much speak to me. It started a couple of months ago at 140K and is now past $125K to "reasonable offer."
