I could see the utility of a commuter EV, as it would be quiet and efficient in traffic without too much hassle.

But for any car intended to be utilized for fun / enjoyment, the approach is not my cup of tea. Very fast, no doubt, but lacking in other areas important to the experience, namely sound.

I also believe the current state of the US electrical grid isn’t equipped to produce enough electricity for a widespread adoption of the technology itself.

Until EVs are 1). Competitively priced, 2). Can recharge in the same time it takes to fill a gas tank, and 3). Part of a reliable charging network / infrastructure to support widespread adoption, then you’re never going to see people convert en masse.

I can't believe people still worry about microplastics.

All the smart people I know simply take a spoonful of these suckers with our coffee every morning. No microplastics in these intestines.

It will be interesting to see what afflictions we are treating 20-30 yrs from now. Things deemed safe that are found to have been unsafe and vise versa. Remember eggs?

We Always cure some things but new things always crop up.

A certain person on our side of the pond warned us of salmonella in egg production some years ago.

Tesla Cybertruck Owner in Canada Says the Truck is “Dangerous” After Experiencing First Drive in the Snow; Forced to Slow Down to 25 Mph on the Highway & Stop Multiple Times to Clean the Headlights.

Someone told me the Cybertruck were designed and build to run on Mars. Too bad so sad, you are using them on earth. Are you dump or what

Hardly surprising with the two inch high h/lights low down there, I wonder if there's an option for power h/lamp spray cleaners filled with anti freeze solution on the Cybers.

I can see those issues as legit concerns. The light bar should be a software fix in a "snow mode" where the light bar is turned off. Adding heaters to the headlights is a necessary production change.

But I wonder what the heat energy use impact is to keep the giant windshield clear from ice accumulation and fogging.

Car prices have risen over 46% in the last 3 years, while financing is harder to secure and more costly. Electric cars continue to be rebated allowing them to undercut the ridiculous prices of new cars whose inventory are still piling up.

Evs have been and always will be a stupid idea and aren't saving anything - including money. More money and resources have to be spent on building new cars, new infrastructure, and most of the cars are absolutely disposable. How does this save the planet?

I basically ignore anyone in Canada and California when they post because they are the type to jump on any new fad because the government tells them to. The government and "science" could (and basically have) crap on them and they would believe it's mana.

A few years ago, on my H3T I replaced the H13 bulbs with LED bulbs (which sucked BTW). The H3T's lights are a bit recessed in the grille, which led to the same issue of snow buildup. The heat from the stock incandescent bulbs keeps the headlights warm enough to melt the snow.

I recently switched back to halogen bulbs. I bumped that wattage to 80/100W. Old school is sometimes good school...

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

That's good to know, those CT's could do with those bulbs...

"An unnamed official told ABC News the vehicle was carrying a load of “fireworks-style” mortar shells that seem to have exploded, killing the driver and causing minor injuries to seven bystanders."

No fireworks, no mortars lol the C/Truck went up like a roman candle from what I see, the huffpost's assumption was that it was unlikely to happen...well it did.

So a Tesla blew up on January 1 at the TRUMP HOTEL and you think it was just a random electrical fire.

“Inside the truck were fireworks, gas tanks, and camping fuel connected to a detonation system controlled by the driver, CNN reports.”

https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/01/us/cy...gas/index.html

For those not blinded with EV hate this vehicle did not just spontaneously and accidentally explode in front of the TRUMP HOTEL.

Do you have any data to back any of that up?

Post some data, and we can have an intelligent conversation.
For now, you are just sharing political slogans devoid of substance.

Conspiracy theories?

Battery for the Cybertruck did not catch fire and contained the explosion fairly well.

Video shows some of the burned contents in the truck bed including gas canisters.

I didn't say that, don't get over excited. So now a dead body inside the CT opens up another avenue as more news comes in by the minute.

This is the real issue with EV adoption. The 42% price gap beteen EV and ICEV buys about 80,000 miles of gasoline. Then tack on the cost and inconvenience of public charging, and most people just stick with ICEV. ICEV recharging works across all socio-economic levels, EV are less desirable for people who can't charge at home.
