Downtown St. Louis, "Passing Through" ( we spent a total of 30 minutes between exiting and then getting back on the Interstate on our way to Colorado Springs ). Love the light and the sky that day, and my buddy's WRX is looking pretty good there, also!

Nice location ddk632! It's hard to shoot a profile shot at 17mm even on a FF camera. It distorts the car in funny ways. The widest I'd go is 24mm with a car not in the center of frame.

You need to try the EF 14mm f/2.8L II. It's incredible. A touch of Digital Lens Optimization and you get a great looking ultra-wide image.

So this is the 5D4 with the 300 2.8 and 2XTC. It makes a nice compact 600mm setup, and the focus is still bang on.

The location was really nice, we were lucky to find it. Driving around St. Louis with sunrise fast approaching, having never been there, just trying to find a spot where the sunrise and the Arch are in the same place, and then found it in time to get some shooting done!

As for the funny vehicle distortion, it's true. I don't do any perspective correction in post on these intentionally odd-angled shots. I also tend to be significantly more technically loose with my automotive photography than with architecture and landscapes and accept more distortion as being ok than with say a shot of a building, which I can't deal with if the verticals aren't vertical, etc.

I also think in the shot I posted, the funny distortion (back of the car vs front) it is exacerbated due to the camera being angled toward the sky, so everything on the outer parts of the image leans inward and upward a lot more than the center of the image. So the back of the car does the same vs. the front, in this shot

That all being said, you make a valid point, and the back of the WRX does look a bit odd (the wheel mostly, to me)!

You made me think of "Beauty and the Beast" (the Beast is my old bike) which I think is more symmetric in how the distortion manifested. You can see the rear wheel appears stretched, but not disproportionately to the general perspective of the front of the bike "going away" from the viewer.

Maybe also because this is a motorcycle, it is not as bad as if it was a car (which generally is longer so distortion may be more pronounced).

Another GBH fishing. They'll all leave for the winter, any day now, so I'll shoot as long as the keep landing in front of me:

LOL, and I posted the same GBH twice. It's not like I don't have hundreds.

Great ducks in flight. That's a tough shot.

My home town of Aventura, FL on the right (still daytime) and the beautiful skyline of Sunny Isles Beach, FL (on the left, with the ocean beyond not really visible) already under nightfall...

Grabbed this shot in the AM on my crappy cell phone camera. I thought the way the fog closed up the valley w/ just the tree tops popping over the top was visually interesting.

Squirrely.
How squirrely? Imagine and we have all seen it two of them chasing a nut. Never had that problem with 13 years of the three BMW's I have but did with the 15 years I had the Mustang. Cashewed it once and flipped the back end out (crunch) once. All over the road most of the time if I got into it, so I didn't.
