I feel like I might have gotten the hang of this, maybe like a pinky or so.

I have some "find the sniper" photos, but I mostly wanted to capture the individuals for future training purposes. The album is of an event where they are working on loopholes (sighting through different objects) to obscure themselves from the observers. They all passed during this training event with the help of myself and another instructor.

Richardson Position by Shane Weinstock

These shots were a bit tough with the sun being nearly directly overhead. I got some good exposure practice.

Alright, so as a few of you have been saying my photos were really dark. No matter what I did I couldn't seem to see the same....until the photos were printed. Once they were in physical form I was able to see what y'all were talking about.

Here's a photo from one of the recent batches of my Smithville trip.

Edited it like I normally would and then bumped the exposure and a few other sliders to brighten it up.
Still trying to keep the overall feel though.

Spent some time up in wine country with some friends this weekend. They travel with their dogs, so we had a great time playing Frisbee on the lawn of one of the many dog friendly wineries. At 9 years old, Bell still has it.

Darrik,
That is about the exposure I would use for a forested scene like that. Regarding the composition on it, I keep looking at the dark tree trunk on the right. The contrast between the light and trunk is pronounced, maybe a bit of lightening with a gradient filter? Cropping isn't really a option I think.

Darrick, that's a dark scene, but that's about how I would have processed it.

I'm glad that you printed a few and looked at the results. That's the real test. You monitor should be calibrated so that the print will look like the file did on the monitor. (The usual culprit is that the processing was done with the monitor too hot).

Went to check out Union Station, but unfortunately, the main lobby was was under construction. Took this pic instead:

Grapes on the vine are kind of like the moon for me. I can't pass them up without taking at least a few shots.

A agree, particularly when so succulent.

Revisiting some RAW files from our last trip to the UK. I found a few decent shots I'd never processed. Not sure why.

Fast snap of the new car. Maybe one day I'll get back behind the wheel of a Bimmer. But for now this will do!

Hey Buddy by Shane Weinstock

One of the hummingbird shots I tried, (unfortunately I had a really hard time with exposure on these ones).
