Almost certainly not, no. Theoretically there could be some special model with AWD but even that seems very unlikely.

Right now there's a single G87 version, so RWD only.

Still very interested in the G09 X8/XM.

Apparently I wasn't fast enough to see whatever news popped up for a bit on this. But the X8/XM is still supposed to be BMW's first "built from the ground up" vehicle in the modern era, not sharing the CLAR with the rest of the line. Will not be a coupe X7. On my recent PCD, I was at least able to confirm this much with various BMW staff, and that it's still coming. Oh, and that it will be built in Spartanburg. They're tight lipped about everything else.

Most likely to have 2 rows, not 3.

What I'm seeing, condensed info from the first post:
  • G09 X8 exists outside car journos' dreams
  • X8 is shaping up to be a halo high performance SUV, with M45e as the entry level model
  • Likely SOP for G09 X8 is July 2022
  • X8 has been renamed to XM. Same model lineup as previously known: a 45e hybrid and two different gas engines
  • EOP: G09 X8 - 11/27

Not sure if this is accurate but according to @XtremeMaC these are planned production numbers for the Supra as well as a EOP date of March 2026.

I think the april 2021 G87 entry is a bit misleading here without the above clarification ("Though ceramic brakes and bucket seats seem to be missing, all the drivetrain and suspension things are the same as G82" sounds like AWD would be a possible option, at least to me and several others who asked about it), maybe add that to the top post (and the https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1820632 copy)?

An obvious cross-shop and potential for confusion

i4 eDrive40 power rating is kind of disappointing... really curious to see pricing.

Since BMW says the top model (M50) will provide 530 PS / 523 hp the numbers here (470 hp for M50) could be the base power without "boost".
Maybe eDrive40 also has a "boost" mode.

Hold the phone.... So will the G80 we see today will be a one-off like we saw with the one year change from 2015 F80 to 2016-2018 F80? And the G82/83 will keep the same aesthetics as current while G80 has introduced its LCI?

Depending on how drastically the LCI changes G80, the current version might end up becoming a real rarity down the line.

I thought the i4 M50 will have 530hp as it was officially announced and not 470hp?
Or will there be an i4 M with 530 hp?

Maybe you can clarify that

So, for those keeping score:

iX xDrive40 320hp
iX xDrive50 515hp
iX M60 560hp

i4 eDrive35 300hp
i4 eDrive40 335hp
i4 M50 470hp

I suspect we'll soon learn that the numeric value in the name is a reflection of battery capacity only. In other words, I don't think there is any attempt here to correlate the badge to power output like there is with the gasoline and diesel lineups. For example, a future i4 xDrive40 will not make 320hp like the iX xDrive40 does. I say this not least because that would nonsensically put its output below the RWD eDrive40 model's output. Furthermore, an iX M50 (which probably won't exist, but theoretically could) would obviously not have only 470hp like the i4 M50 model does. This is because, again, that would nonsensically place it below the non-M xDrive50 model in the lineup.

TL;DR: when it comes to BMW EVs, don't try to guess motor output based on the badge.

I was wondering that as well. As you suggest, that may be another model coming later. However, a mere 12% bump in power for the flagship M model over its lesser sibling would be a bit of an uncharacteristic move. Perhaps they intend to deliver even more power for said flagship? They could use the 560hp setup from the iX M60, for example. Though, it's not clear if the i4 will support the "60" battery which is probably paired with the higher output motors in order to yield a more reasonable EPA range.

M3 Sedans always got an LCI the model year after introduction, until the G80 which will get it two model years after.
