Going to give Hyundai 5 more years. Hard to say they are reliable now. They started kicking just 2-3 years ago with their new GDI engine and new bug looking design.

BTW Headlight is from 6 series gran coupe and grill is from Audi.

I wonder how much this is going to cost. Its correctly selling at Korea starting 50k bare naked to 70k fully loaded.
Guessing 40k in U.S? Koreans are hating Hyundai because they are selling same car with better safety features, warranty, engine for $10k less in the states.

That car looks pretty good. I would compare it to a 5 series, not a 3 series.

Knockoff? I don't see it. I was actually waiting for someone to say it looks like a honda accord, since everything seems to look like a honda accord.
Even if they used styling cues from successful brands, it is only direction, and it is a good direction for a brand that is reinventing itself.

The Korean brands will break out soon enough with all new designs. Until then, they are improving their cars appearance, quality, and performance. Hard to complain.

This may very well be my next vehicle. I think it looks fantastic and if my 2009 Genesis sedan is any indicator, the build quality should be very good...

lol

1989 was quite sometime ago and I hate to break it to you every car has batteries that die.

Uhh... Yeah.... But we're talking 1996, which makes that car 7 years old at the time, and all the used cars I've owned or driven never even had 1/4 the problems; even an 11 year-old Buick. But still. I still stand by my reluctance to trust Korean machines; my first Samsung phone caught fire the first week, most phone repair clients I have are Samsung, and even just 5 years ago Hyundai and especially Kia were towards the bottom (if not all the way at the end) of the reliability ratings.

Hyundai ranks surprisingly low on JD Power's 2014 reliability survey -

Hyundai is alright, I don't like how the previous generation Genesis coupe was a blatant knockoff of the Infiniti G35 and G37 Coupe.

IE: My old G35 Coupe beside a Genisis

The new Genesis Sedan front is a knock off of the Mazda6 LOL

...Question. Why are you on E90Post if you drive a Mazda? Isn't that like me joining a Ford forum?

...Sayeth ye person that has 3 other non-BMW cars in his sig. Don't know about him, but there are people who are enthusiasts but haven't bought one, or owned one, switched cars but stayed around for the cameraderie, which the latter sometimes would be the reason I poke my head into solaraguy.com from time to time.

Question...do you think this is the only car I have ever owned? I owned a 335xi. Sold that for a C6 Vette.

Have you also stopped to think that maybe some of us are enthusiasts and like lots of different cars? My E90 was a great car. I will own anotehr eventually.

I think it looks a good bit better than the A8 to be honest. The whole "Hyundai is ripping off other car makers" thing is getting pretty stale. All the car makers rip each other off all the time. The sudden explosion of led running lights across the entire market is a good example of that. In fact, one could easily say that the new Accord is nothing but a blatant rip off of the original Genesis sedan. The only reason people give Hyundai so much crap about it is because of their Korean origins and the fact that they USED to be a pretty sorry car company. Believe me, those days are past and today's Hyundai/Kia is one of the most technologically advanced can manufacturers on the planet...

Nope, not Korean. I just see reality. Korean car makers are exactly at the same point that the Japanese were 20-30 years ago. Will they ever have the prestige of the European car makers? Probably not, but they should definitely be beyond tired and baseless comparisons to the 1988 Excel by now. Hyundai is a legitimate power in the market now.

yeah the Mazda looks like a bloated RX8 more so than the Genesis

I drove an Equus and liked it. Great value, but gas guzzler big time. I will try a Genesis when they are available. It should be nice.

If I squinted and the monitor was 20 feet away I would say they look the same.

The grille, headlights, hood, mirrors, rear and beltline are all different.
