and for the guys who are saying "I won't buy because its a nissan" well you aren't driving anything special either being that your car is a mass production car as well and you can see 5 of them every time you blink!!!!

haha, yeah thanks for that I dont think you can just look at the brand anymore. Okay 90% of the time the brand reflects the design, not always though. Look at the new C5:

The blue devil, I think they may be calling it the ZR1 now, is supposed to be close to 700 HP and TQ. This Nissan is running equal times to the Z06 so this new Corvette will probably destroy it.

Not that I drive a 3 series, but your above statement doesn't mean BMW isn't far superior as far as quality, service, luxury, etc, etc, etc. Nissan vs BMW....I'd say that scale is tipped pretty significantly on the Bimmer side.

I think it looks really good. I just wish they did not soften the front end so much. The should have changed very little on the front end.

More like similar price and better stats if the ring time is to be believed. (Though I have yet to see a weight number) Plus I'd imagine it being AWD it would be much easier to drive than the oversteer happy Z06 and you would slaughter a Z06 in the rain.

oversteer is typically a good thing if you know how to drive. hahaha.... in the rain? yeah because stop light racing is especially important in the rain. this car will fail in the US, $80k? for a Nissan? Please... nobody in their right mind would pay that in this country. NOBODY when you can get about 20 different cars with 50 times more prestige and 90% of the performance.

GT-R's are the greatest JDM vehicles in history. Fans all over the world. Why do you think there is so much uproar over it? The entire world ha been waiting for this vehicle. You lost all credibility when you stated it lacks prestige. People said the same thing back in the 90's about the Supra. "50k for a toyota?!" Do you think they'd be saying the same thing about that car now?

He has a point though, although I don't agree that the car will fail. Some people were willing to pay nearly $80k for imported R34's through Motorex. With that being said, sure, there will be some people who undoubtedly opt for the GT-R (...fanboys with deep pockets, Jay Leno.....because he buys everything, etc.), but prestige will definitely come into play........at least in the NA market. Not everybody is a GT-R/Grand Turismo follower, especially those with old money. I'm sure that the car will do okay, but it will be financially out of reach for a large majority of the people who like the car. There are some of us who followed the Skyline prior to GT, but come on guys, you have to admit that a lot of people didn't have any idea about the Skyline or its history until GT was released. |

Tell me now though....if the Mark V Supra came out, would people have a problem paying that much now? This isnt 1993. Toyota and Nissan arent considered lower class vehicles anymore. Hell Toyota's king of the automobile industry right now. Someone please explain to me why paying $70-80k for a Nissan GT-R is wrong, but paying $80k for a RS4 or $100k for a M5/M6 is right on?

The difference between the GT-R and an RS4/M5/M6 is prestige bro. We know the GT-R is a great performer based on reviews, but at the end of the day, it won't carry the same perceived value as the cars you mentioned, especially to the buyer who could care less about 'Ring times (..which encompasses majority of the potential buyers). |

First of all, turbo supra's were only $37,000...$40,000 optioned out... i don't know where you got $50, and secondly, obviously the car deserves respect, but we are talking about america here, land of the fat and stupid.

Many sold for nearly $50k in the U.S. The same went for the Z and the RX7. They were very expensive cars at the time.
