Times Sq is ok for the cursory photo, but outside of that, i'd agree. As a FL boy, i think the 10 to 15 min i spent in Times Sq, was plenty.

Like Mr. Tonka said, other than capture yourself with the familiar imagery in the background there's not a lot to do there except avoid other tourists and get annoyed quickly

http://www.millenniumhotels.com/usa/...oadwaynewyork/ Usually I'll stay with family or friends when we go up there. If you have to be in the middle of the city and near Time's Square, it's not a bad option. The only reason I was there was to be right in Time's Square for New Years Eve |

The Roosevelt was very nice and centrally located. (Midtown) Was also very affordable, but i booked 4 months early and prepaid. But give them a try. It's a historic hotel.

I admittedly know absolutely nothing regarding hotels as I live within driving distance but Times Sq is just a tourist trap. It's loaded with hayseeds waiting on long lines to eat at the same Olive Garden they have at home. You also have the issue of scam artists 1) "yo yo yo do you like hip hop? What's your name? (writes it on a blank cd) You owe me $15! I already wrote your name on it!" 2) Elmo/Spider Man/etc. 3) Black Israelites screaming bible verses at you. That's just a taste.
Staying somewhere nearby like Bryant Park will allow you the same transit access (Times Sq and Grand Central) without so much of the hassle. There are a few hotels in the area that I walk by regularly but I don't know prices (Library hotel/Bryant Park Hotel/I think there's a Courtyard right next to my office as well which is likely more reasonable). As far as restaurants go, I don't go out nearly as much as I used to but a few that come to mind are El Rio Grande (tex/mex, strongest Margs in town) and Los Feliz. The latter turns into a club at night but has a cool vibe regardless. Yelp should be a good indicator so keep it handy.

Living where I'm at every weekend feels like a vacation. If it isn't the beach its a drive to the Keys. If it isn't the keys then it's a quick drive to Daytona. If it isn't Daytona its a drive to Orlando and to visit that famous mouse that takes all my money. If the mouse didn't rob me enough then I take a cruise to the Bahamas.

I haven't ventured over to the west coast of FL much since I moved down here, however, Siesta Key Beach looks rather lucrative. Let me know when you'll be down and maybe I'll swing by and book a room for a weekend. Hanging out with a fellow OT member by the beach would be

My last vacation out of country was in Bali.
Took a week off a couple weeks ago to do some writing up at my cottage.

Turks & Caicos: well recommended, easy getaway from where I am, stayed at an all-inclusive resort. Excellent food, plenty to do, perfect to just relax and enjoy.
Britain: recently spent three weeks there just last year. Pleasant experience, plenty to do. Saw everything from Stonehenge to Big Ben. London has too many people but a lot of AWESOME cars Also went to Scotland and Wales. Both one or two day trips, worth it. Hawaii: been twice, excellent both times. Family out there. Stayed on Oahu. Bit of a trek from here but worth it. Italy: been twice, looking forward to the next time. Beautiful scenery, amazing food, nice people, lots to do and plenty to see. Went to Germany and Switzerland on the same trip. Everything from the canals of Venice to the Swiss Alps in one trip. Definitely will be back. Just some of my favorites from the past ten years or so. Been a fair number of other places as well, these are just some highlights.

Just got back from Cabo (bachelor party)....Pics were destroyed before we all came back. lol
But tip, definitely rent a villa when you're there. Opt in for the cooks and butler. The butler acts as your guide/security.

Went to Vegas for a business trip, but I viewed it as a getaway as much as I can though.
*EDIT* Sorry, forgot the pics. I won't bore you with the actual event pics itself, but this is the South Point, and my room was on the 21st floor... My friend had more "off time" pics but his MicroSD card got corrupted damn you, Samdung.
