I actually enjoy the styling of the Z4 (not the Z3 so much) and the S2000 (I owned one for years), especially when either is paired with a decent hard top.

The crappy paint of nissan cars is the reason why I will avoid any nissan made car in the future..even a GTR. It annoys me that much. Crappy meaning it would chip super easily....ugh

People who said that about the S2000 knew nothing about the car. It was a fairly raw car with few amenities other than a great engine and go cart handling.

And how many "girl" cars only come in manuals, have LSD's, loud engines and no stability control (AP1 cars)?

Granted, I am a guy but I also have to say 'what the hell is with men's insecurity about being labeled girly'?!? Who cares! Do you really think women vehicle enthusiasts post to forums saying things like 'oh no, I really want that GT500 Mustang but won't people say its a man's car......maybe I shouldn't buy it'. Hell no, they just go buy the vehicle they want and couldn't give a rats ass if it is labeled a 'man's car'! I used to wonder why women always complained about men's insecurity with all things "girly", posts and fears like this just prove what the ladies all say. Sorry guys, but its true. If you have real confidence and security in yourself and sexuality, thoughts like this won't cross your mind. You'll buy what you want because you like it and that is all that matters. If someone wants to slap a certain label on you because of what you drive, that's their issue.........and a moronic one at that.

Yea I agree completely, I still miss my s2000. Also how many "girl" cars come with forged internals and a 9000rpm redline. Simple diff replacement with a decent turbo setup and that car is a beast.

I know. I keep modifying my 335 thinking I can somehow capture the feeling I had when I pushed that car into corners. Simple physics say that it will never happen though. I drove that car like I stole it every day (redlining it about 4 or 5 times a day) for 70k miles and never had one issue. You can't do that in a BMW.

Same, I was pretty hard on it too, just needed oil changes the entire time I owned it.

OP who are all these ppl telling you your Z4 is girly? I bet theyre all guys. When a chick sees you in a Z4, she's probably thinking, that's hot. So who cares. Would you rather attract chicks or dicks?

Now if you were driving a beetle or a smart car, then that's different. Even chicks will think ur homo.

Well now, if we're comparing SIZE to masculinity, then I'm feeling pretty darn good with my ride! LOL

Who cares what other people think, most of the time it's just jealousy. Besides that, are the Range Rover Sport, BMW X5 and Porsche Cayenne considered girly? Most of the time when I see one, I see a women behind the steering wheel. And if girls love it, then it's good right, a proper chick magnet it is then lol.

I still get that about my S2000. Cars are cars, they don't have a gender.

So where did this stereotype come from??
The BMW 1M and 1 series cars are the only ones I see a lot of girls/women driving. Often I hear "small cute cars" by women/girls. Not so much any Z4.

I have to agree though the 1M and 1 series are chick cars and nothing wrong with that.

I can tell you that I know three female flight attendants in Miami who drive Z4s. Also a female doctor.

I know only 1 guy with a Z4 he's a doctor in Europe.

Asked and Answered

So, Roadfly already did a survey on this question. I quote:

FINAL RESULTS of Z4 age/gender survey--

Based on the answers of 63 total respondents:

Combined age of all respodents is 2,449 years
Median age is 37
Average age is 39
Most frequent age given is 52 (4 of you)

85.7% (54) are men
7.9% (5) are women

6.3% (4) are other/undetermined gender

Avg. age of female Z4 owners: 31
Avg. age of male Z4 owners: 40

Conclusions:
Women Z4 owners are younger & prettier.
Men Z4 owners are older and less pretty.

...Granted, above results probably skewed by fact that respondants were on Roadfly.

As for what women are actually buying, Forbes reported this in April 2012:

Vehicles Most Popular With Women
Model Pct. Bought By Women
Volvo S40 57.9%
Nissan Rogue 56.9%
Volkswagen Eos 56.4%
Volkswagen Beetle 54.6%
Hyundai Tucson 54.0%
Honda CR-V 53.4%
Toyota RAV4 53.0%
Nissan JUKE 52.7%
Jeep Compass 52.7%
Nissan Versa 52.2%

Conculsion? Cross-over SUVs are the preferred chick cars of the moment.
