Sad how there is soooo much misinformation about pitbulls out there because they are such loving and loyal dogs. Just as with any breed, a dog's behavior is almost completely determined by how it was raised, not by its breed.

I did read somewhere that you should not have your dog run for prolonged stretches of time until they are about a year old, especially if you are on a hard concrete or asphalt surface, since their bones and ligaments are not fully developed, so watch out for that.

My son after he was attacked by a neighbor's pitbull when he was in the 3rd grade. The fucking monster came through the gate and attacked him in our backyard while he was playing with his hot wheels. Fortunately the owner was outside and was able to pull it off or it would have been much worse.
You should ask him about pitbull myths. Last edited by Rawhide; 10-15-2010 at 09:01 PM.. |

Being an owner of a pitbull for almost 13 years, I will admit they're is no room for error when it comes to a pitbull attack. When they bite, they will most likely inflict serious damage because of their overall strength. However, this breed is great, loving and loyal if you raise and love them correctly. In your case, I blame the owner who prolly hasn't trained the dog correctly and didn't have him properly supervised. Or, maybe they shouldn't own this breed since they can't handle it. Your case is sad but you can't blame the entire breed and the owner should be the one accountable only. Anyway, I really don't wanna make this thread a debate about pitbulls but dog attacks happen with all types of breeds everyday but it's unfortunate a pitbull attack makes the headline. BTW, nice looking dogs everyone! Let's see more... Last edited by choicez; 10-15-2010 at 11:16 PM.. |
