OP, we need a weekly pics progress update...you are slacking from your promises. When you asked them to do full brick, builder also ask you to pay more right? I prefer full brick myself as I hate sidings because in this climate (humid), siding attracts molds very fast.
posted one this week, for 06/03 Wednesday. will try and take one again tomorrow. don't worry, promises are made to be kept

Unless they have gills they won't be there this morning...

It looks like the framers will be decking next. I hope one of your "upgrades" is TechShield decking in OSB or CDX.

"TechShield decking in OSB or CDX"
what's that? keeping house warm in winter and cold in summer with less energy used?

Your roof decking. Ask your builder what he is planning on using. Summer item...which is really about 8 months a year here.

I would advise getting TechShield. It does not cost him but a few bucks per 8x4 sheet....ask him to toss it in for being such a good customer.

The "foil" helps prevent as much heat from reaching your attic. And depending on your sofit vent set up, can't tell from pics yet, look into ridge vent. Along with the TechShield these two build items will save you some decent cash here in Texas.

Don't let him tell you they are a waste of money either. You may not have sofit vents or limited amounts of them/linear feet and turbines would be the next best...even though they are kind of ugly. Ugly or not do not rely on a bunch of low profile metal or plastic vents as the only vent device. Sometimes called air hawks. It is just too hot here for them to perform worth a crap. Correctly placing a few along with ridge vent is ok. You just don't want them competing against each other.

Here is what TechShield is...

oh yeah, techshield is a must for southern states and should be standards like double pane windows in my opinion. Currently builders are not required to use techshield. I had techshield on my shed and boy, do I feel the different. Gonzo, I have seen in my area the higher priced builders also wrapped techshield around exterior wall as well.

OP, get on the phone and talk to your builder asap about adding techshield.

Walls are great too but getting the roof done w/o a change order to the build price would be awesome. If he get's the walls done too w/o a change order I want him to buy me a lottery ticket.

The thing with a ground up build, IMO, is spend the money on energy saving products. You can always add interior upgrades later on.

Huh? When did you stop by last? It has rained 5+ inches here today.

Are you here in D/FW? I would be tempted to drive by and look for you. I hope he is being honest.

Not the best but they could still do a spray on shield.

Not that far. If you want, pm me the physical address and I will go by before Happy Hour.

More than likely it is decked. When they get rolling they are like ants on a mission.
