Upload Speed: 499 kbps (62.4 KB/sec transfer rate) by the looks of it mine is a bit slower.... I'm in Toronto, Ontario Canada... Rogers hi speed cable internet but we have 3 or 4 different speeds....I'm somewhere in the middle (not the slowest or fastest available to me but its fast enough for my needs.

Hey, this is an old thread. Since I posted on this last time, I've gotten Verizon FiOS (15 down / 2 up). Now I get:
Download Speed: 15595 kbps (1949.4 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 1836 kbps (229.5 KB/sec transfer rate) Nice to have a fast connection now.

He actually did... somewhat... in a very loose sense.
Al Gore was head of the senate at the time and helped push the communications act of '95 out the door which allowed for commerce on the internet which really sparked the internet revolution and .com bust and all that wonderful stuff.

One thing - the service is outstanding, and the speed does not fluctuate, at least on my end (there are some slow web servers out there). It's like 40x faster than my lame old DSL service I used to have.

Wow, this is a blast from the past. I see I had FiOS at 15/2 the last time I posted here. Verizon has increased my speed twice since then. Now it's 35/35, and always tests at least that fast -- I typically see nearly 40Mbps download and 35Mbps upload. If you guys don't have FiOS, you're missing out!

I dont know the number but if I buy a song from iTunes I can't click fast enough to x out of the store and click on the "downloads" to see the status bar. By that time it's done.
