Where I live, there is a public utility district, not a for profit company. We are 85% hydroelectric and my fuel cost is 10.5 cents per kilowatt hour. It hasn’t changed from that rate since I bought my home 8 years ago. Our electric bill is around $250 per month. If I put in solar, that goes down to $0

Also the carbon intensity of the grid varies over the course of the day. In many parts of the country on sunny mild days the majority of the electricity on the grid is being generated without fossil fuels. Not sure if there are EV chargers that allow you to vary your charging based on grid conditions, but it’s definitely coming. Apple has it for the iPhone: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT213323

Just got mine yesterday. 100 miles already driven, and so far I love it too. I opted for the black grill.

I am sure that is a problem in many areas of the country. It’s not an issue so far in the greater Seattle area. Many apartment complexes have EV charging as an amenity. Plus there are a large number of charging stations.

It's odd, really. I'm on the M235i part of the forum as a long-time BMW owner. Berfore that I had a 330d xDrive Touring, 528i Touring, 525tds Touring, 320i Touring etc. etc.
You don't get people joining the M235i forum arguing that ICE vehicles are rubbish and we should be buying electric. Not one. So why are some people on this segment of the forum so anti-EV? Surely, if you live somewhere that's not an electricity backwater, can charge fine at home, find fast chargers when you need them, and the economics of an EV model work for you, what's the issue? I don't read any owners here saying you shouldn't buy an ICEV ever again. Just that they're pleased with what they've bought and in the spirit of the Forum, are publishing that. And for the OP - I like the car and as someone mentioned, a lot of the press photography doesn't do it justice compared the the shots on here.
