no surprise on the speed. The Taycan 4S and below aren't super fast for EV's. You really need to go to Turbo level to feel Tesla levels of speed. I drove a Base, 4S and Turbo back to back and got in my Model 3 Performance following and felt like it was on par with the Turbo speed wise. Or at least a lot closer to the Turbo than the 4S.

As far as interior goes, I do like the layout of the Taycan but it's cramped and Porsche tech is....not great.
I think it was both the steering and suspension that didn’t give me much road feel in the Taycan. Those probably have settings to adjust but I hadn’t tested any of it during my test drive. I didn’t think to test drive a higher end version.

Great looking car. Here’s my build that came in last week. Hope the $5k deposit is refundable haha

Did anyone have a “Rental Charge” on their lease? No idea what it is, just noticed and asked the dealer - they say it’s a BMW fee not dealer. It’s only $60 but doesn’t sound right to me - what have I rented?

Overall the lease terms seem pretty terrible compared to my ‘21 550. I got 8-9% off MSRP back then and excellent MF & residual, so that mostly explains it.

$400/month higher payment for same cash down, less miles on the M60, and $7500 fed credit. Wow

Strange comment for a Taycan. it does have air suspension which perhaps you're not used to? Definitely need to drive it in Sportier setting.

Did drive in sport mode according to the advisor I test drove with. He said there are only 2 modes: sport and classic or comfort. Drove around for ~10 miles mostly in sport.

Definitely not used to air suspension or Porsche. The Taycan was the first Porsche I’ve driven.

I know of the rent charge included in the monthly payment. There’s a separate “Rental Surcharge” of $60 (see section A) that’s not been on my past couple leases. No big deal, was just curious.

1% sale service fee at 900.00
DMV registration at 623.00
Documentation fees at 150.00
"Other fees" at 998.45

The range on my monthly payment is 1498 - 1528. I don't know what drives the 30.00 range.
I don’t see it in your numbers, but in Texas the sales tax will get you on a lease - it’s calculated on the full sales price of the car which really blows, but dealers can offer sales tax credits.

In TX, in some cases (more likely at dealer discretion when available) the dealer will use sales tax incentives on lease returns (not yours, cuz those suckers paid tax on the full price of the car but only used it for 3 years) and so I believe if used they need to charge at least a 1% sales tax (instead of the full rate).

Depends on terms/ spec, but I’ve seen a handful of brokers that can get these for under $1k/mo. Something like this. $1300+ is actually a shitload, I’ve seen i7’s go for less than that

Yeah I made a deal through Dan from Leasehackr on my M550, was a great deal. The low residual, high MF, and paying msrp got me on this one. Surprised someone mentioned they got .0015 or somewhere around there - wonder how.

Would’ve gone through Dan again but couldn’t get an allocation in the timeframe I was looking for. The Taycan was somewhere around 2500/month - msrp of 140k. Same cash down. Probably could’ve negotiated 4-5% off since there appear to be a ton of custom builds sitting on their lot for months.

No soft close, custom build. I think those are only on 7 series now. Maybe 8 and 6 too? The last 7 loaner I drove had them.

What an odd place to cut costs. One of the most noticeable as you’re entering the car. I can’t say they had any function - no one is stepping on my door sill. I guess they probably thought the same. I don’t really care, just a noticeable change.

I still wouldn’t call it pretty, but the front looks WAY better with the silver kidney surround than black. The all black treatment makes it look like a featureless blob. The silver looks nice, at least on this lighter color car.

Are you getting the sun glare from the beveling of the front light strip, too?

I had a 7 series loaner this weekend and that was bad but the 7 has one continuous strip where the 5 series has it broken into two pieces from the steering wheel to the passenger door.

I have no problem with the shadowline look but I’ve always thought the grey paint goes better with the grey/silver grill / wheels.

And I wasnt interested in a light-up grill. Along with the $500 up charge

You can get a good deal on a lease still. That $7,500 credit certainly helps plenty, and dealers will discount, but you will need to go through a broker.

My order is placed for hopefully a December delivery. 96K MSRP, and I'll be at under $1,050/month for 36/10 and full MSD's. No sales tax in NJ on full EV vehicles too.

Great deal man! I didn’t have many options with my lease expiring mid-October ‘23. Could’ve extended up to 2 months but I already had a build coming in. Had to call bmw and get a week extension (that ended up being free) until pickup - made it 2 days before I had to pay another month

Can you elaborate what it meant for you when you say "drives better" than the Taycan?!

I drove the Taycan a lot. It drives like my old-ish 911 997 in town, and of course on track the Taycan is just very heavy (1 tonne heavier) than my car so obviously it is not the dynamic sports car but a big sedan with limited luggage space. But - BMW isnt light either. So how exactly is it better driving?

Hey Kia did not have it, maybe they introduced it now.

Congrats to everybody, who picked up the new car.

I am still waiting for mine to be delivered to the dealer and for pick-up. Curently it is located in a central warehouse 300 km away from the dealer. BMW held back the car for whatever reason.

But I have a question to the ones, who picked up the Car. I realized on Friday, when I was at the dealer to inspect the car that the rear right door handle stands a bit away from the body. Is this also the case for you guys?
I have checked two different cars (there were only two - i5 and 520d xDrive) and it was the same "misplacement" on both cars. I am wondering if this is a general production issue or if this cars were maybe some kind of "pre-production" cars still.

he's full o crap lmao. he also thinks the bmw interior is better than the porsche which is quite the joke. having owned various m3, m5, x3m, x5, and got to sit in my client's new i7 the other day the i7 is the only one I'd say is on par if not better.

until you get into the 7 series it's not even a contest
