My assumption as well. Guess I'll be waiting to pull the trigger for now.

It's on the i5 M60 for EU/CA but missing in US. Super sad...really itching to get my rear into one of these cars!

Apparently they realized they pasted the wrong thing. This is the updated version: Bowers & Wilkins® Diamond Surround Sound System delivers balanced, detailed sound to every corner of the 5 Series Sedan with exclusive Diamond Dome tweeters, fully active amplification channels, and QuantumLogic Surround/Dynamic Sound Equalizing. |

Bathe the cabin in light with the Sky Lounge Roof. Its extra-large glass panel includes a power sunshade to shield passengers from excessive glare and heat. |

From the May 2023 BMW USA press release - seems to say these are standard features on the i5 M60 and the M Sport Pro package is not required to get them: As the top model in the range, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive not only has the most powerful drivetrain, but also comes with standard suspension equipment that ensures the power of its two electric motors can be harnessed to deliver a superior performance experience. Its standard Adaptive M Suspension Professional includes electronically controlled dampers, Integral Active Steering (which allows the rear wheels to turn in or out of phase with the front wheels up to 2.5 degrees), and lowers the ride height by 0.3 inches compared to the standard chassis of the BMW i5 eDrive40. The dynamic performance, agility, and handling precision of the high-performance model are enhanced by standard 19-inch M light alloy wheels with mixed performance tires and a powerful M sport braking system. |

Yeah, I agree! But, the website is very scant on listing the standard specifications/features. The ordering guide does list 2VV Adaptive Suspension Professional as standard on the i5 M60. I'm hoping once they add more details about standard features to the US website they will both show up there. Seems hard to believe they would leave these off in the US as they are pretty integral features built into the car's infrastructure and not like a moonroof or universal garage door opener.

Really having a hard time wrapping my head around all this. Coming at this from the perspective of owning a 2021 M550 (best car, of many, I’ve ever owned—by far), a 2022 X5 and previously (as far as BMW goes) a 2018 540, 2019 X5, 2016 X5 and 2013 X3:
1. Sorry, the car is not simply not visually appealing. At all. It looks more like a Honda/Toyota/Kia than a BMW. I get the “maybe it will look better in person” and maybe it will, but I don’t think it can look THAT much better in person. Not sold on the interior either—the cluster, the new iDrive, lack of buttons, etc. I also hate the loss of a physical shifter—I drive with my right hand there usually. I realize that’s the trend, but I don’t have to like it. 2. There are some really key features that have helped make the 5 series for many of us missing—starting with the V8, multi contour seats, etc. Just not feeling it. My lease is up in October. Wish I had pushed to take the hit to order one of the last M550s and get out of this lease early. I’d have been very happy. As it stands, I’m seriously considering buying my car outright and keeping it until I decide what I want next. Increasingly, I don’t think it will be the new 5–and before seeing this car and learning more of the details, that was an automatic for me. I just don’t get what they are thinking. And, if I decided to swallow all that and settle on a 540 (certainly no slouch), based on playing with this configurator it would cost nearly as much as my M550 with less “stuff”? Shaking my head. |

M340i xDrive would be really appealing to me, if they’d put some better seats in it.

I have thought about the M340. I really like the exterior of the car. As someone else noted, it’s the seats and other downgrades in the interior that worry me.
I’m also tempted by the X5 M60 or the hybrid X5 (had a 45E last week as a loaner and it was fast and fun to drive; new one is even quicker). But, we already have an X5 (principally my wife’s car) and I like the variety of having an SUV and a sedan. |

I thought about waiting for the new 530i, and this does look appealing…but I do love my M340i in sport mode…and I don’t think I’d quite get that level of smiles with the 530i |

I feel you on the price points, too. I went with a preowned 2020 M550. Would have probably explored a new/almost new M340 but I really wanted the V8 5 series while it is here to have (without being too old) and the G30 is just a great car, all around.
