Or -- if you're looking for something even more exotic at a slightly higher price point -- Sotheby's has a 1972 Ferrari 365GTS/4 Daytona Spider -- the real thing, not a coupe that's been cut -- for auction. Only about 10% of Daytonas were Spiders. This one is kind of pretty. <drool>
Daytonas have famously heavy non-power steering; I'd probably need a year or so in the gym to get ready to drive it.

The last competition picture of Old Smokey F1?
Just after this Scott Birdsall lost brakes and went off, down a steep hill and was able to walk away. The truck did not survive and is a total loss as of now. |

R34 Z-Tune #001 is for sale.
I imagine it will bring more than $2M. Such an interesting story behind these Z Tune cars, with Nissan stripping them and then rebuilding them from the ground up from lightly used examples long after R34 production had ended. |

I took two of my grand kids to Blackhawk Museum (Blackhawk, CA) to see some cool cars. They are both into anything with wheels.
I've been to this museum several times over the years. I particularly like the way they present the cars. They've cut down the number of cars displayed but that might be a good thing. Too many amazing cars can boggle the mind! We had a great time. My favorite?....I can't decide. Here are a few pics starting with a replica what is claimed to be the very first car, a 1886 Benz Patent Motorwagon. I'd say these cars fit the thread category. |
