So I have a little thing that happened the other day, and I just want to get some outside perspective to make sure I'm not going crazy, or if I am in fact going crazy.

My friend was over the other day, and I during one of our conversations I said "I'm glad that I work where I do, it allows us to go out and do some cool things down here" and she said "Wait. Your work doesn't give me PERMISSION to do anything. I pay for all my stuff on my own, my car, my apartment, etc.. The way you word things is crazy."

When we go out, I pay for dinner, movie, and things like that because I have a steady income and she lives off student loans, mind you.

So I said "I'm not meaning it like my work is giving us permission to do anything, all I'm saying is that I'm glad it's given me the opportunity to go out with friends and not have to worry".

She insisted that I said it like it gave her "permission" to go out and do things with me, when that wasn't the case at all.

Am I bad with words...., because to me I thought what I said was perfectly normal. Things don't bother me, but I'm pretty confused right now.

i don't know about you or your friends *jibber-jabberer but i do know this: some women will think you mean something based on the words you use when really you just mean what you said.

they try to decode what we're saying when there's nothing to decode. we try to figure out what they want to get from decoding our non-existent code so we can give them the correct code. <-- that's not code. it is what it is.

Yeah, its true. We pick up meanings behind words and you're screwed from the start. I've spent countless hours explaining to my friends why their girls flipped and yet in the same situation--> flip.

It really does not help knowing I'm being a complete idiot while I KNOW HE IS WORSE AND IT'S ALL HIS FAULT AND I AM GOING TO KICK HIS ASS.

Then I tell my friends to shut up and smile and never ever make a mistake.

At first I brushed it off, but she started being rude to me at the table.

I called her out and said "Why are you being so mean to me?"

at some point she told me to Fuck Off. I told her she can go the fuck home if she's going to act like that. Ended up turning into a huge fight, tried turning things on me and how I'm making her feel like an ant, shes dealt with shit from me over the years, and now I'm raising my voice.

From the start I was nothing but nice and polite. So the second I tell her to get the fuck out for being a bitch, all this other shit unfolds.
