I remember when a friend of mine worked as a teller in a bank and told us about this new thing - the ATMs. You'll be able to get your money out of a machine.

Remember when you actually had to get to the bank before they closed.

Yes, and I know where the term "banker's hours" came from!

Wheelie Bar

Well, we did wheelies, but I totally missed this one, and I visited our local
bicycle shop frequently. But, I had a Honda 50 by then.

I remember really wanting a Honda Super 90 but my father wouldn't let me have any motorcycle.

Learned to ride on 2 neighbor's Suzukis. One had a 50, the other one 80cc.

Wonder if a bicycle helmet was involved? At that speed you'd think yes.

Yeah, I did wheelies too but didn't need no stinkin' wheelie bar.

No way that bike was doing 55 MPH. KPH, maybe. I have a 22-speed race bike and I live near a very steep hill. At 38-40MPH, I'm out of gears and just letting gravity do its thing. A quick Google search shows the top speed recorded in a Tour de France race was 63MPH (although I've seen higher claims). The rider was on a Stingray with maybe 5 gears and a cheesy speedometer that was probably never calibrated.

That said, that rider was borderline insane to be riding a bike like that on roads with traffic. But YouTube heroes usually are.

And I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find out there was no helmet involved. That would indicate an awareness of one's mortality, and that didn't appear to be the case.

And the lines moved quick because the bank actually had tellers.

When I was young I would take my paycheck to the bank every Friday at lunchtime. I believe the banks closed at 3pm back then.
