That depends on which of the two examples you attribute to guilt and which to empathy.

But VER in his statement sure ment one of the two more than the other, whereas the GRO incident could only play on empathy (which is why it's a very different situation)

Right, I should have been more clear. Hamilton didnt feel guilty because he didnt think he was wrong and thats his choice. So all there was to feel was empathy for Max, who was fine.

Yes and Toto felt the same. He said "a win is a win" about the incident and winning the british GP.
That totally sets the attitude of the MERC team regarding the safety of other drivers....winning the title is more important.

I have to say I was surprised to read about Verstappen making a fuss.
It didn't seem a big deal at all...he walked away from the crash and went for check up.
Lets be honest if the tables had been reversed and Hamilton had been in the wall while Verstappen went on to win at a "Dutch" race...Verstappen would have celebrated just the same in front of his fans.

Perfectly stated. Max had 21 points on his Super License in less than 4 years of driving in F1. There are two things at work on this and not from anything that Maxi Pad has done.

The first is that they created the no moving in the braking zone rule or, as I call it, The Maxi-Paddle Arresting Regulation. Next is the fact that drivers give Maxi-Pad very wide berth when he is anywhere in the area. It's literally Self Preservation.

Silverstone got over 1300 posts. Hungary may catch up with extended break. Guys...you're never going to convince those having opposing views. The Hamilton fans can't handle that F1 is no longer a Mercedes parade. And Max fans are upset that the last two races were a disaster (caused almost entirely by Mercedes). At least F1 is gradually returning to racing as opposed to a boring two-hour "follow the leader" parade. There's finally some competition, and that's more entertaining.

No intent doesn't mean no blame.
HAM caused the crash because he was reckless. He didn't follow the racing line because according to the FIA his racing line wouldn't have hit the apex (he went way too fast for that, a typical do or die maneuvre), and he didn't use the room VER left him, which was easily 1,5 times the width of the car on the inside.
You can also see the difference in how HAM later passed LEC in the same corner, but using that space on the inside and hitting the apex. So he knows how it should be done.

There are a few Hamilton bois on here with a leader that refers to him as a sir, more of a novelty for him adorned with his heavy gold chains.

Had the Red Bullying 16Bully remained on the track, it is highly unlikely that any penalty would have been applied.
