Same here, the pick up truck driver who swerved wasn't looking/concentrating on the bridge road and with a suspended licence shouldn't have even be driving. Bra**am is in big trouble and fortunate the trailer driver miraculously survived.

Most likely. Is lax quality & poor safety something you want is a EV just to have it be cheap? Ask a climate change idiot that next time they glue themselves to the road.

If they can sell poison baby formula and toxic dry wall why not combustible EV's?

Some folks are destine to be EV owners. "She also wanted to clear up a couple of comments she'd received on her previous video, explaining that she would have opened the car manually if she felt like she was in a life-threatening situation."

Any one remember the "documentary" idiocracy from 2006?

I meant during the day. But that's the point, you made it sound like issues could be avoided depending on when people charge their devices.

Heaven forbid it starts raining at work, or power goes out when you're not home. All that talk about charging at home during the evening goes out the window.

Can't we just be honest about the limitations?

The sad reality is that honesty about the limitations of EV's is in short supply.

This is not a complex thing. I'm just suggesting that since updates are elective one should just choose a convenient and safe time to do so. For instance, if someone updated their Windows laptop software three minutes before doing a Zoom interview for a new job then I would suggest that was a bad decision. I would not think that there is something deeply wrong and flawed with Windows based on that.

Personally I'd try avoiding updating a working system I need until I have time to deal with any update issues and if there are any it doesn't leave me stranded miles from home, for a car I'd leave it till I'm at home, but I'd probably want to update when I can check it's finished.

I did have an issue where the Garage updated the car's software (X3 F25) but something went wrong and left with loads of errors in German which they couldn't decipher - should have suggested the IT fix of turn it off and on (which they eventually did and it worked).

Work's laptop though, I'll update right before any meeting I'd rather not be at

No, but I'd also not want it on a normal car - it caused me no end of trouble in one where the garage weren't competent - having a car totally cut out, electric and engine, at 70mph in the dark is quite scary even if it recovered a few seconds later, even worse since they couldn't get to the bottom of the issue which turned out to be a loose battery lead as found by breakdown rescue.

You do know that you are not your typical EV fan boy. Look on social media, it's all about the electric Bling. Most of these folks think they bought a video game they can drive to work. Well maybe not the Google clown playing video games on Autopilot who offed himself. But fear not they are suing Tesla like any little google punk would do.

"Butt", "Butt", I was just about to buy a Tesla to save the world.

New survey suggests that the climate change scam is becoming a joke
Do you suffer from climate anxiety? A new survey suggests that you might find yourself increasingly alone. Apparently, the constant fear-mongering isn’t working too well anymore.
When 2,230 American adults last month were given a list of issues and asked to judge their importance, “climate change” scored near the bottom, with only 45 percent considering it “very important”, alongside “issues of race and diversity” at 40 percent.
Compare that with the list-toppers: the economy (82 percent), inflation (79 percent), and crime (65 percent), according to the CBS News poll conducted last month by YouGov. When real problems arise, fake ones tend to fade.
Which is why, when the countries of the world came together to define an objective, the best they could come up with was to not surpass an overall global temperature of 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels from the year 1900. Since that limit was already surpassed, despite constant harassment and taxation of their citizens under the climate change pretext, they clearly have no idea what they're doing. Their argument is that they just haven’t governed hard enough yet or taken enough of your money. How convenient.
For instance, there could be a federal carbon tax, like Canada’s Liberal Party Prime Minister Justin Trudeau foisted upon Canadians, and which has contributed to massive inflation as the tax is factored into every part of the supply chain.
“Eco-anxiety” is real, according to the American Psychological Association. Defined as “chronic fear of environmental doom,” it’s a wonder that the affliction hasn’t been included on the disabilities disclosure list for job applications.

As Tesla layoffs continue, here are 600 jobs the company cut in California
May 17 2024
As part of Tesla’s massive restructuring, the electric-vehicle maker notified the California Employment Development Department this week that it’s cutting approximately 600 more employees at its manufacturing facilities and engineering offices between Fremont and Palo Alto.
Facing both weakening demand for Tesla electric vehicles and increased competition, the company has been slashing its headcount since at least January. CEO Elon Musk told employees in a memo in April that the company would cut more than 10% of its global workforce, which totaled 140,473 employees at the end of 2023.
Previous filings revealed that Tesla would cut more than 6,300 jobs across California; Austin, Texas; and Buffalo, New York.
Tesla’s stock price has tumbled about 30% so far this year, while the S&P 500 is up 11%.

Is it a EV thing?
Is it a EV competition thing
Is it a bidenomics thing
I suspect it is all of the above but time will tell.

The EV battery 'catch-22'
05/20/2024
In his e-book, “The EV Transition Explained,” Robert Charette, longtime systems engineer, and contributing editor for IEEE Spectrum, says making the transition is harder than anyone thinks.
His argument centers on the lack of planning and systems engineering on initiatives that are politically, not engineering, driven. While change is possible, he suggested it would require trillions more in government spending and enforcing those changes through law.
Profitability. Battery recycling is a still-developing process which is time consuming and expensive. The cost of purchasing recycled materials may be more costly than buying them new.
Mineral shortfalls. Secure and sustainable access to critical minerals like copper, lithium, cobalt, and nickel is essential for a smooth and affordable transition to clean energy. An analysis by the International Energy Agency indicates a “significant gap” between the world’s supply and demand for copper and lithium. Projected supplies will only meet 70% of the copper and 50% of the lithium needed to achieve 2035 climate targets.
Transportation of discharged batteries classified as hazardous waste is one of the costliest steps of the recycling process. Experts suggest updates to federal EPA and DOT regulations for how battery-related waste is classified.
In his opinion, battery recycling issues are even further behind than transitioning the electric grid to renewable energy sources.

Over here I now constantly hear on the radio lately from eg. Kia/Hyundai ads 'Are you confused about what EV to buy, come in and we'll explain which is the best one for you'. No doubt they'll repeat the pack of lies about climate change and to 'do the right thing for the sake of your children future'
Are some ppl that stupid not to do their own research from reputable sources..

Today's children and too many adults get their climate information from a little Swedish girl with developmental issues screaming at them on TikTok rather than a basic geology text book.

The great philosopher Dean Wormer once said:
Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.

If we actually worried about what is truly important... we would be living in a wildly different country... chances are high that a 3rd party would have already popped up that fights for the middle class.
