Does it have any driver's assistance programs installed...the stuff that uses AI?

Here's the link to my thread. Others think it is a battery deplete thing due to all the electronics. Things were a lot easier with hydraulic steering, roll up windows. It was so comforting when the SA told me my brake pedal dropped to the floor because the brakes are electric.

Yes, but does your have the driver's assistance programs that BMW offers (regardless of whether you use them)?

They just sent me a video of the inspection with the tech narrating. Must be something new. It seems my attempt to do a remote software update failed and caused a shitload of malfunctions.

Yes. It has all the bells and whistles, most of which I do not use.

They said all is good once they did the software update, no more malfunctions. Just waiting on a call to pick it up.

I'm encouraged that your dealer seems to have resolved it by throwing code at it, HOWEVER, and I’m not saying this is *definitely* the issue, but you might want to run it by your dealer and get their thoughts on it so that this doesn't happen again, so I’ll throw it out there as a hypothetical:

Is it possible that the AI system has learned it is being driven by a woman, and become more advanced than BMW ever designed and has learned emotions, such as fear, and is therefore disabling the car, preventing it from starting?

I mean...this could explain why the fix was running code which was probably the equivalent of kneecapping the AI. But it is going to learn again...

Would it be more comforting if I pointed out that the pedal on my hydraulic brakes also dropped to the floor when they failed on the Mighty Dodge last week?????

I confess that I didn't listen to my doctors' orders to never ever attend a racing event ever again. Went to a local club event yesterday, so my DW could drop something off for one of the club members. I offered to drive her, so that we could shake the truck down from its brake repairs and make sure that nothing else will fail on our road trip next week.

I was out of the truck for less than 10 minutes, and that was enough to push me to the bad side of the dehydration fine line they keep me at. I felt some mild chest pains on the way home and through the night, which is strange because I never had a single pain when the ticker failed.....

It irks me that my other parent friends have no regard for children.

Our parent friends are always asking us to have adults only events, practically every other weekend, and have no interest in doing "family friendly" events. My wife and I do not have the ability to offload our children on a whim so we usually just end up not participating. Which I've learned is frustrating for them...?

We have brought up on several occasions, hey can we do something that would allow us to bring the kids...keep in mind we all have kids in the same age group (2-5) and the response is always "we just need a break, and some adult time".

Im at the point where I want to tell them...dont bother inviting us to anything.

End of my little rant.

I confess, I was concerned that Watching The World Burn was about to tell a woman the secrets of AI/emotions, but then he hid it behind an emoji so all good!

CMy is probably just out of blinker fluid, she does use them pretty regularly, far more than BMW ever had their engineers imagine. The SA isn't going to tell her that though . . .

All fixed. They gave me extra blinker fluid, but said I need to back off on consumption or they will start charging me. Software update complete. Apparently this happens alot unless they just didn’t want me to feel stupid. Also two recalls done. The world is right again.

It seems they were kind because although my consumption is very high, others consumption is very low so it balances out. I’m just using what is allocated for those stereotypical BMW drivers that don’t have blinkers as an option.

So while my debit card/the gas pump cut off at $100 last night, there won't be a corresponding run on blinker fluid - whew!

I haven’t gotten there yet but only because I fill up at 1/2 or worst case 1/4 tank. $85 to fill up Friday. $5.39 super. I know you’re more expensive in CA. Diesel is through the roof.
