Man what a great series by the Spurs... They really kicked our ass, no doubt about it, by far the better team. But no shame here, we will be back next year, 4 finals in 4 years... I can def. live with that

Three straight blowout wins to take the championship... Wow.
Congrats to the Spurs.

regardless if youre a miami fan or not you HAVE to respect what the spurs are all about and what they did in this series. They dont showboat or have any superstars. Instead its all about the team and in the end thats all that was needed to beat miami. Props to miami for making it to 4 finals and i actually hope they stay together next year because itll be interesting to see how many finals that group can win. Overall im very happy since i was pulling for the spurs

Thank you Miami for stepping in and taking that ass-beating so my Pacers didn't have to endure that in the national spotlight. Spurs looked unbeatable.
It's like Miami blew their wad too son against Indy. Not that they had to expend much energy but it did go 6. WTF happened to Chalmers and Haslem? Whoever said it was James vs. the Spurs was right. James probably had to look down to make sure it didn't say "Cavaliers" on his jersey. Wonder what James will do now. Join Carmelo somewhere?

No drama or controversy with the team or the organization, just solid and professional from top to bottom.

Wow, Spurs gave Miami a spanking. I didn't see Miami showboating against San Antonio like they did against Charlotte in the first round. Spurs play competitive teams in the west, unlike Miami who play against garbage teams in the eastern conference like my Knicks. I'm so glad Miami loss. Maybe Lebron is planning his press conference to tell the country where he is going to take his talent next season. Maybe another team with established all-star players making it AGAIN easier for him to return to the finals. Congratulations Spurs!

I thought the Heat would beat the Spurs but I'm happy for my boy Patty Mills...NBA CHAMPION!!!
I think Miami is going to shake their roster up quite a bit.

Was hoping that the Heat would 3-peat for "historical" reasons.
The fact they weren't able to do so just goes to show how difficult it is to do. Jordon's Bulls were the last to do it (1991-1993 & 1996-1998) and it probably won't happen again for a long, long time (if ever again) in the NBA (or any other professional sport, for that matter). Credit goes to the Spurs for playing so well, getting to the NBA finals 6 out of the past 12 years and winning 5 out of 6 times, and credit to the Heat for getting to the NBA finals 4 out of the last 4 years and winning 2 (back-to-back) in that time. Both are great teams! Too bad only one can win each year. It was the Spurs' turn this time.

In any event, 3-peats in any sport are pretty rare and much more difficult given free-agency and other things that simply make it hard for any team to remain dominant for that long. But, if it happens again, in basketball or any other sport, I'll be happy to see it -- just for the rarity of the thing.

Miami only had 1 dominant year and I think it's 50/50 they win that championship if the played in the West. The east is a joke so getting to 4 straight finals is nothing special. They wouldn't get to the Finals every year playing OKC, LAC, SAN, Memphis, or even Dallas. They should have lost last year's finals and got blown out this year and against Dallas. 2-2 with this bunch is pretty lucky because they'd be 0-4 in the West. Lebron is a great player, but his team isn't garbage like everyone wants to say now. He simply isn't a big time player who can carry a team consistently. He did it one year and should have lost last year too. |

Honestly, it's not just the Spurs. They played great and were the best team, but I think the Clippers, Memphis, Mavs, OKC, and obviously the Spurs were good enough to beat Miami. Miami's "dominance" in their shitty conference is a negative for Heat fans because they get a dose of reality when playing a really good team in postseason. Regular season is meaningless because it's just one game and they play garbage 75% of the time. Your coach also sucks. You think Wade is going to Opt Out? He'd probably get $5m on the open market. He'd be an idiot to leave all that money. |
