Yup... I've been chasing this girl for a couple months, she actually showed up to our first date, but she cancelled the next 2. I figured it was over, but a friend of her's mentioned she wanted to see me again so I gave it another shot. Got 2 more "I'll be out of town that day" before she agreed to see me - day of I get a txt literally as I was walking out the door to pick her up.

Ya'll are more generous than I am. I set up a first date for drinks week in advance with this girl on bumble. We had been talking for about two weeks, I get her number, I ask her out, and she says yes. The day before we're supposed to meet for drinks, I texted her again making sure 6:30 PM at <insert drinks place> works and that I'm flexible before and after. The place opens at 4 PM technically.'

She texts back the day of 3 hours before the date saying:

Hey sorry for the delayed response!! I actually am hoping we can push to later this weekend?? Sorry, I promised I would go support a friends band and they're set got moved up to 7 so it'll be really tight!!

I reply back

Yeah no worries! Go support your friends band We'll figure something out

She replies back

Ah thanks, just let me know when you're free this weekend! How was Alaska?

and I haven't replied back since. This was 2 weeks ago. I'd prefer it if women were more straightforward and forthright with their intentions. Not that this would've changed the outcome, but I would've respected her more if she just honestly said "Hey you know what I'm not really feeling this first date and I'm not particularly keen on meeting. Sorry " because that's what she meant when she flaked last second for a different social event and made little effort to re-schedule.

Then again, my last text were I said "We'll figure something out" really meant "My time is important and I'm not going to go out on a limb and actively try and set up a second 'first date' again. Sorry" so I'm not immune to this silly undercurrent of actual conversation that we engage in either.

If a woman makes no effort to actively re-schedule with a specific time and place, she's not into you. Move on.

I can usually feel it out to see when I'm about to get ghosted but it's hit or miss. I will try to set something up asap so i dont end up wasting time exchanging forced funny banter with someone I havent even met. Let the real talking happen on the "date".... if it even happens lol

This is the best approach. Make it quick and to the point. Get a little bit of banter in, then get number, then chat a bit in text, then set up a date. If it's not there that quick, then you're just dragging square wheels.
