Yup... no Wagon for us. Not even a special order.

That pretty much dumps any redeeming qualities of the G8x.

Maybe BMW gets the idea that the wagon (like the convertible) should only be available as Competition AWD world-wide, then at least the 6MT wagon lovers from the US won't be too sad.

Sounds like the X8 hasn't died on the design table, during the COVID crisis. Thought it might.

This truly shows that Albert Biernmann was right when he said M stands for ///Marketing.

m4 gran coupe

Sorry if this has been asked and answered. I couldn't find it. I know the base M3 (G80) and M4 (G82) will come with 6MT standard for RWD. I also have read that the M4 will come in a convertible (G83) and a Gran Coupe (G84?). Will the Gran Coupe and convertible be available with the manual?

No, there is no indication that will happen.

Can we reasonably expect G05 X5 LCI as MY22? Would iNext or iX5 have any impact on LCI roadmap?

Most likely will be MY23, as LCI tends to happen for the 5th production year. Doubt the i-models will impact it at all.

If they don't manage to build the iX5 on the current architecture (i.e., not another iX3), they might pull another no-LCI cycle to fast-track the iX5. There's no indication of that happening so far though, AFAIK.

I doubt it, base on ynguldyn info it sounds like the the iNext is being positioned at the x5 level.

For customers at that price level (at least for the time being as Evs continue to ramp) consumers will likely prefer a stand out unique vehicle vs a "plain" X5. It will make more sense to take the learnings from that program and incorporate into a next gen x5 on the usual lifecycle.

Yeah, I was thrown off by the iX5 and took it at face value, but now I realize that is what the german press likes to call the iNext, so I also doubt there will be a proper iX5 soon (unless they rebrand the iNext to it at the last minute, but then it won't have anything to do with the current X5)

Still excited for the X8. Just don't think I can hold off my own purchase until it comes out, independent of the potential to be able to afford it.
