beautiful day in Houston today.

right now it's 64 degrees with not a cloud in the sky - gonna warm up to @ 67 or 68.

rocking out to The Allman Brothers Live at Fillmore East.

currently looking over at my "hamburger helper" - gonna go warm that thing up in about 4 minutes.

I love Hamburger helper. But haven't had any since 2010. I stopped cooking because i work 7 days a week. I think I'm gonna have my 16 year old son make me some sometime this week.

funny story - gather round, kids.

in my late 20's and into my early 30's, i had never even tasted a few things that some kids grew up on.

hambuger helper
pop tarts
oatmeal

those are 3 things that i NEVER once had as a kid - didn't start eating them until i started "cubicle life" in 2006.

for those of you that grew up on pop tarts, imagine going through your whole childhood not knowing what they were and then eating one for the first time at age 26 HAHAHA !!!!

there are sopme other things also, but those 3 stick out big time.

eh, 26 could be late 20'sish lol.

26 was my first pop tart - i think i was older when i had oatmeal.

but here is the cool backstory, bro.

i grew up in the trailer park - only mexican kid there.

oatmeal was too white for us to eat and pop tarts were to expensive and cosidered a "luxury".

my mom would never think about making us food from a box, so the only time i saw hamburger helper was during those stupid commercials on tv with the white glove acting like an asshole....

we would eat eggs, home made tortillas, cereal, pancakes, chorizo and other stuff for breakfast.

for dinner we would eat some more home made stuff made from either chicken, fajita steak, rice or beans.

rice and beans is still one of my favorite dishes - just a freaking plate of mexican rice and home made beans
