I also upgraded from an XTi, by the way. The high ISO ability, which I never cared about - honestly because I didnt have it and didnt know what I was missing - is just mind boggling. I've been planning to post a little review of the 6D, hopefully around this weekend.

I just came back from a one day Disney World trip last night and have to upload my pics. I didn't take a flash with me and have pics at night and from inside the rides that look great!

Did you get the kit or just the body?
sweet. the anticipation is killing me.

I ordered just the body. I already have the 24-70 f/2.8 L which I purchased a while back (and prefer over the 24-105 f/4 IS L). It will go perfectly with the full frame 6D.

it was a toss up between this and the 6d and 5d mkiii. I decided to save a few hundred bucks and go with the 6d because its features were more than enough for my photo taking. now i have a head start on saving up for a new lens. I still haven't decided on which lens though; either a prime or zoom. oh, and totally forgot about the flash too. gonna have to order one of those as well.

One of the 70-200mm L-series would be incredible, particularly on a FF body. I use the EF 70-200mm f/4L IS with my 5D MkIII. It's great for portraits, car photography, some scenic shooting , sports and wildlife. The IQ is fantastic on all the L-series 70-200mm lenses.

yes, i'll admit I was looking into the 70-200 but it's simply not practical for me due to its size. I can't imagine lugging that thing around on the street or during vacations. i did use one (70-200 f/2.8L IS) and I fell immediately in love.

obviously that's in the lust worthy gear envy category. I'll probably go for the 50mm prime before doing any hardcore splurging.

The 70-200mm f/4 is way more manageable than the f/2.8. It's such a great lens that I can't imagine being without it.

Nice, that's cool - I've heard great things about the 24-70. I had to sell off a bunch of EF-S lenses and get new ones, so the kit made sense for me.

I feel like I'm missing a really fast prime after I sold my Sigma 30 f/1.4. I'm liking what I see on POTN with the images from the new Sigma 35 f/1.4 for full frame. And a buddy of mine swears by his 35L. That's kind of what I'm leaning towards (one of these two) for my next lens.

The fastest lens I have now is the 40mm Pancake f/2.8. It's a neat little lens but I found myself wishing for more low light ability at home with the kids, even with the high ISO ability of the 6D.

Wait until you get your new camera before deciding. The low light ability of your new body will get rid of much of desire for faster lenses.

Dave ... I already have the new camera I think you commented on it when I posted a picture of the box

I was shooting with the 6D and Pancake and found f/2.8 to be great but was wishing for f/1.4. It would be nice to take the ISO down 2 full stops for 13x19 prints where, as clean as it is, the noise would still be visible.

This was shooting my 2 yr old daughter opening Hannukah presents at home with relatively low light and no flash.

6D arrived this afternoon, didn't have a chance to test it out until tonight. I grabbed this shot during my nightly walk with the young one. This is an SOOC shot (resizing, cropping) and handheld. Coming from the XTi, the low light capability with this camera is ridiculous.

I just started this flickr account, so hopefully my portfolio will grow in a coherent manner.

i think the pancake fairs really well at f/2.8 on these bodies. i love it. it's honestly the only lens on my camera when i'm not using it for work.

Hmm, I was thinking about getting one. My daughter bought one for herself when she bought my 5D MkII from me. I think it'd be a great lens for my night street shooting on the 5D MkIII.

They're about the cost of a good filter and not much bigger. No brainer.

Not today, but I say in the newspaper that some high school kids just did.

One more from today.

Used the 24L for this
