Anyone else notice (dont know if you can if ur stateside) that the UFCOnline events you can purchase and stream went from $20 bucks an event to the ridiculous $45 event without any notice?????? Being over here in Europe, I have to rely on (albeit nice of them) free broadcast of UFC events at a particular time... and I am working during every damn event airing, and cant record it! So if I miss it im screwed, hence why I used to purchase and stream.
Now its not only up to more than double original pricing but its blacked out in a few countries in Europe, including Italy which I am stationed in. Good grief, what a pain in the ass. How in the world am I going to get my taste of UFC now? Even though its now $45, id still pay it if I could, but I cant. Any help appreciated fellas. |

I really dont want to miss arguably one of the best/biggest live fight events in UFC history... If I do, I only see one course of action: Total sensory blackout for the foreseeable future until it can be watched lol. |

My picks for the fights Diaz Bocek Couture Brilz Aldo Shields Yeah, id bet it all if I was in Vegas. Although I know Jake doesnt have anywhere near the standup GSP has, he is going to absolutely dominate him on the ground. Hes not going to even look at the standup. I think Shields will be GSP toughest match to date but GSP has shown he can adapt to any fighters style and dominate. I think Shields will struggle to get him down and I also have to question his cardio, he looked like he was gonna pass out after the Kappmann fight and you know GSP isnt gonna get tired, dude can prob go 10 rounds totally pulling for Randy though, he has to go out w/ a win! what a card, cant wait! |

Wow, Phil Davis going straight to the top! I saw him fight at the Patriot Center in VA a few years ago and I knew he was something special, destined for the UFC.

Like you said, cardio will be the big factor for Shields. I think GSP will dominate this fight in every aspect including the ground game.

If Shields somehow manages to be on the ground with GSP and NOT be on his back, I think that is the only way he may have a shot at GSP (short of the freak KO that can happen in any fight against anyone at any time). GSP is just too experienced and too strong for even someone with Shields' BJJ experience to submit from there. I doubt Shields will even try much from guard to be honest. He will probably focus more on transitioning to something else vs trying to submit GSP from guard. It's just really really tough to catch a strong, experienced person from guard. Your BJJ has to be 2 or 3 levels ahead of the other guy to get him from guard, and I dont think anyone in the world has that over GSP (other than maybe Rickson Gracie).

GSP is 3 levels below Shields ground game skill... Are you kidding me, there is NO comparison. GSP is a sly, snakey dude, but he does not have the skills needed to stay off his back in this one, Shields is twice as strong as GSP. Shields is a Champion caliber wrestler, and JJ black belt, where as GSP, is just good. There is a big difference and we are going to see that in this fight I think.

If he wins, and I think there's a good chance he could win convincingly, he should definitely move up to fight Silva. There's really no excuse why not to. It would be a complete re-orientation of his career
