BMW Connected app is not even available for US android market. I have it on my Samsung galaxy S4, it does not work, it works seamlessly with my I phone 4S

Continued BS claims of an iPhone having a "direct connection to the roof mounted antenna" when using the adaptor makes me wonder what other false information BMW is passing on to us.

Especially when you consider the limited use you get out of it since BMW takes so long to come out with these. The iPhone 6 is likely coming out next summer/fall and won't fit these. In other words, if you rush out and get this installed right away, you can pay $250 for maybe 10 months use. Thanks but no thanks.
I concur.

This is total useless crap that I bet dealers will gladly add on to help pad their sales prices.

BT and a USB car charger will do all that I need (for my Android)...and I won't have to take my phone out of its case each time I want to do this!

The snap-in adapter does help with reception. I can't use my phone near my home without it. I also like the fact that the phone is out of the way and charging. To me, it is worth it (although I'm confused by this new plate that needs to be purchased and it sounds like it won't work in either of my cars until the 2014 version comes out....

Last but not least, BMW Apps will support Android later this year...or was that next year?

With the frequent Apple hardware and software upgrade cycle, as a consumer / user, trying to keep up with this integration just doesn't make sense (BMW Apps update, iOS update, hardware interface revision). I've found most of the BMW apps offerings to be pretty much useless or too limited. Example - after finally getting the right combination of Apps and OS revisions to read my text messages from iDrive Office, I then find it's limited to only those texts you receive since you started the car? Ugggh.

Sticking with Bluetooth phone and Bluetooth audio provides most of what I'd want with the least frustration. And since Bluetooth is standards-based, the interfaces are well defined and easier for manufacturers to support, versus a tight integration to a specific phone with makes it dependent on the phone's OS and App interfaces which may change frequently.

The most useful integration would be to control the iPhone from the iDrive and clone the iPhone display on the iDrive. But that wouldn't be the most profitable integration strategy for the companies involved as it doesn't require the consumer to purchase various stuff to keep up with the latest changes.

I've tested my iPhone 4S in different States in all areas urban, suburban, country and mountains in the Northeast there is absolutely no change in signal bars at all! This claim is False!

No way ... it definitely makes a difference!

An extra 2 to 3 bars in marginal reception areas.

Apparently tcappetti's test did not include AUSTRALIA! I've read in many other places that the improvement is somehow related to when there's poor reception.

1. Snap-in adapter is the only available option which let you see your iPhone's language for music list even if your BMW don't support. (In my case, I can see Korean with North America version of BMW.)
2. Additional to number 1, you will get cover art.
3. You can access and control iTunes radio, too.

I would pay $250 to get music list in my language.
