Here are a couple pics of my collection. Funny you should say Bell & Ross. I have a BR01-92 PVD with a custom Cordura band along with two Daytona's and a Submariner Date Green face/bezel.
Wow! What a collection! The custom strap on the B&R is really nice. I like the look of their rubber straps as well.

The PAM 111 is nice as well!

Personally, I wouldn't get either. If your looking for a nice timepiece, and reasonably priced, look at Tissot, and Hamilton. My friend deals with high end pieces, and recommends either brand. I personally purchased a Hamilton from the khaki field collection. I added it to my collection of higher end watches. You will be surprised how nice, and the quality of these timepieces. Good luck.

i like hamilton and tissot as well. have the hamilton khaki pilot auto and the tissot luxury auto. both in that magic range tony keeps talking about lower priced watches that are a good value. decent auto movements, saphire crystal, view back and under 1000.

Breitling - have worn the Jupiter Pilot just about every day since I got it in early 1998. Never a bit of trouble. Had it in to Breitling twice for cosmetic repair and it's cleaned regularly. Great piece, a royal blue face and like the M, classy to the eye and rare - was told by the Breitling dealer that they only made it for one year!

I have both. A Super Avenger and a Planet Ocean.

My SA is huge..almost borderline impractical. But I love it for that!
My PO is my daily go-to and classy.

Up to you..both watches are very nice...just depends on budget and your personal style.

Hamilton = Swatch.

http://www.swatchgroup.com/en/brands...range/hamilton

Not bashing them. I actually own this watch from them that i bought when I was much younger, and I still wear it from time to time, when im doing something rugged and dont want to damage another one of my watches:

However quality is no where near breitling or omega... on my chrono all the buttons rusted after snorkeling in the Indian ocean for a couple weeks.
I like the look of the watch, but the automatic movement still isnt near what other watches can do, and the band material is cheaper in comparison to the the two brands boots is looking at.

No kidding your also comparing a 500 dollar watch to a 4000 one. Hamilton and tissot are both good value. Lots of others as well under 1000 that rival higher dollar watches.

Sorry, I disagree with you. Tissot and Hamilton are not in the same league. Tissot does make a nice sport watch though as I will purchase one of those.

BREITLING>Omega

An obession with time pieces really, check out the devon tread watch. I'm not spending 20k on a watch unless its platinum with diamonds but a neat design nonetheless

Designs come and go aside from a few staples that define certain brands.

With that said, in my opinion Omega possesses far superior design and elegance than Breitling.

Mechanism, without question: Omega.

Never said Hamilton, or Tissot were in the same league as Omega and the Breitling. For $500-$1000 range, you can find a nice classic timepiece from Hamilton or Tissot. If your looking for something that's a little busy, and cost in the thousands, I say Breitling. Omega isn't as busy, and has more of a simpler style to them, However, they can get pricey. It's a matter of how much money your willing to spend, and what style your looking for. I personally have a Rolex Submariner for that sporty look, and a Oyster perpetual datejust for a more dressy look. My Hamilton Khaki field automatic, I wear when I just want to change it up. Also consider value if your thinking about trading in, or selling it privately.

I have a Rolex Tudor submariner that is approx 46 years old that the Navy gave my father when he graduated from dive school. To this day it looks up to date. There are many watches under 1k that are fantastic including the ones you mentioned. So many watches and decisions.

Rolex pieces are timeless, and age well. What I love is they hold their value pretty well. They also increase 3- 7% every year. That's good for someone who already owns one, However, not good if your thinking about purchasing one.

I went with Breitling Bentley 6.76 a couple of years ago, since I wanted a bigger piece in brown color. I got rid of the steel bracelet and put it on the custom hornback strap and a deployment clasp. It IS a very large watch. Definitely not for everyday wear. But it looks very sharp.

If you want a classy everyday watch, Breitling Navitimers are a pretty safe and good looking bet. Except that the bracelets are polished and get scratched up instantly.

Recently I have been thinking of getting new Omega Planet Ocean Chrono in orange. That's a very nice looking watch. I tried one at the store and was very impressed how comfortable it was for its size.
