Multitasking is vastly improved. Siri is so much less bitchy. I like the camera app way better. Facetime Voice voice quality blew me away. The swipe-up options are very convenient. I feel like the people who assume new always equals better are in their teens and twenties and are easily wowed by novelty (no offense) :P Last edited by carve; 09-20-2013 at 03:54 PM.. |

iOS 7 runs like ass on my 4S. I'm forced to get the 5S because I use my phone all day, everyday for work. I don't need to deal with a laggy POS.
My parents love their iPhones. They're older and there's no denying that iPhones are very easy to use which is why I bought them. They updated to the "cool new software" everyone has been talking about. They both have an iPhone 4. iOS 7 literally made those phones unusable. For almost everything you do, there is about a 3 second delay. Opening apps, closing apps, delay in typing, etc. I'm not exactly thrilled that I have to go to Apple and drop a grand to get new phones. But I'll comment on iOS 7 when I have a device that can actually run it.

My pet peeve with iOS7 is the massive block that appears when you change volume settings, etc. No need of something that takes up that much real-estate to simply tell you the volume level.

It simply can't handle the load I put on it like iOS 6 did. Could be hardware related or it could be software related. It's frustrating sitting there waiting for apps to close when I need to jump into another immediately.

No, I never did with any other iOS release. I'll wipe it and reinstall tomorrow.

Honestly I think that is Apple's strategy
The 7 ran like shit on my 5, I can't imagine how shitty it is on a 4S (hell 6 was shitty when I had it on my 4S). I cannot stand even the slightest bit of lag, it pisses me off to no end. using 7 on the 5S is much much smoother and better and I'm starting to like it. I hated 7 on my 5 so much I downgraded it to 6 by going to the Apple store, complaining about a rare problem that they cannot diagnose well and getting a replacement since i knew the replacement would be on the older OS. But I am happy with 7 on the 5S, no lag at all.

The new modern theme, the whole transparency idea, the slide up toggle buttons, the new interface for ending active apps. I mean there's a bunch of stuff. iOS 7 transformed the actual iPhone IMO

I played with it a little on my wife's phone. It's definitely different, and I like it, but I wouldn't say it transformed the phone...

My battery life is the same. The funny thing is that I don't think any update or phone upgrade changes the battery life one iota, but rather people are playing with their phones more than they realize because it's now new.
What I have noticed on my 5 and my wife's 4S is that it does crash out MUCH more often. Prior to the update I would have a crash maybe monthly. I've had at least five since updating last week.

I was wondering why my wallpaper and icons seem to jitter a little when I hold the phone. If you take the phone and tip it back and forth, they move to create a paralax effect, as though your phone is hollow, the wallpaper is attached to the back of the case, and the icons are attached to the glass. It gives a nice 3D effect, but is useless and seems like a waste of battery life. I heard it can be turned off somewhere.
