this thread is just....sad. i'm sure you people also have studies to prove that pot makes you smarter...and yeah, tobacco is just so bad for your lungs because of all the chemicals in it...right. and while we're at it, let's just forget about studies that prove that a single joint causes as much lung damage as 7-8 cigarettes, and that cannabis tar contains a lot more cancer causing carcinogens than tobacco. and no, it also doesn't reverse damage caused from drinking..lol what a joke. i.e. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/2419713.stm it's everyone's own choice whether or not to use drugs. i've been a smoker myself, but man, at least get the facts straight.....stoners, they never learn. i'm sure its all very healthy.....dream on, or better yet, just stay high.

looks like MD Daniel E. Ford has put together quite a study...wow..no medical evidence, comparison of healthy to cancer patients, trying to sort out by lifestyle....i'm sorry, but you don't honestly take this to be of any seriousness.....such a study, with those methods and "attempted comparisons" will result in whatever you want the result to be....
not trying to start an argument here man, just my own .02 cents. to each his own. |

trainwreck at night?! Man...I can't smoke good sativa at night...it'll keep me up. Only indica's at night for me
Oh...and that study your talking about was just recently published, and for that one there are at least 20 other studies showing the direct opposite. Marijuana is no where near as harmful as some would like you to believe but I don't think there's a pot head out there that's going to argue that it's healthy for you, outside of the medicinal benefits which can still take tolls on ones body and mind. While combusting plant matter, collecting the smoke, and inhaling it is no where near healthy for you the toxic makeup of marijuana smoke pales in comparison to the toxicity of tobacco smoke. But then again that's why smart people understand that smoking isn't the only way to get their high. Personally I'm starting to move away from plant matter in general....concentrates are where it's at. BHO FTW

I definitely a believer (through research) that cigarettes are a lot worse for you than pot, considering the amount of cigarettes smoked compared to pot. That being said, I'd never argue that pot is "healthy." Any type of smoke that is being inhaled into the lungs will cause some sort of a damage here and there. I quit smoking cigarettes b/c of their harmful effects, but with pot, I smoke it knowing the consequences. You can die in a car accident tomorrow also.

Gets me sick on how people "invent" things just to justify their bad habits. Just a "report" in a meeting can't be a reliable source. Cannabis is toxic, specially when smoked. The only medical use is for terminal patients and just as a "palliative" and is taken in an oral form. Will NOT "cure" cancer. |

I bet most of the people here dont even know why we call it 4/20 or why we celebrate it. They're just jumping on the bandwagon simply because they wanna smoke (which I dont have a problem with).

I don't think anyone ever said it's a wonder drug unless they were joking, but not one person can deny all the benefits that can be gained from this one plant, be it spiritual/medical/recreational.

that so-called "study" on webmd.com isn't anything closely related to a medical study supported by medical facts nor does it have any proper analysis. it's just "comparisons"...wow, i can compare things to whatever results i want to achieve....without any facts to back it up, that shouldn't be much of a problem. i've smoked cigarettes and cannabis myself, but i don't tell myself that bullshit which some of the people on here have been posting to please my conscience. taking drugs is your own choice, but saying that sort of stuff out loud and actually meaning it makes you look even dumber.
and as for the medical use for terminal patients, the known long-term damages that cannabis causes will most likely never occur in this case. |
