As others are saying, this should be a close race. Whether you win or lose, I hope you'll tell us the story
Good luck dude, and I hope you teach that guy a lesson he'll never forget. |

Oh yeah, and when you win (or lose by a hair ) rub it in saying "and to think, this thing gets twice the gas mileage of your car! Man I'm even more satisfied with my purchase!"

This is my 1st post on the board and would like to say hello to everyone. I was referred to this post by a friend of mine on m5board. He thought this may interest me since I'm a chrysler 300c srt8 owner. I'm not hear to debate what car is faster. So please don't get your guards up. For your co-worker to act like that is uncalled for. I know my car is fast but will never act like it's the best thing since sliced bread. If you do race him I would like to see it and even record it for ya...your in nyc correct? I'll shoot you a pm. Oh yeah, your cars are beasts and very good looking. Will |

I would not disrespect SRT-8's in a straight line. I've seen sub 13 second times stock. There was an older thread about 300C's versus 335i's, the consensus is, stock-for-stock, the SRT-8 is slightly faster in a straight line.

R/T is pretty much like Mitsu EVO's 'rally edition', throw on some tacky bodykit on a base model and call it R/T / rally edition

With your experience with the SRT8's what mods (and how much) would it take for the SRT-8's to get into the 12's?

Stock for stock...it may be close with the edge to the SRT-8. However, if you've got the PROcede, XEDE, or even the TT, you would definitely win without a problem, especially from a roll...been there, done that. One suggestion though...start in M1 (not M2), DTC on (1 quick press of the DTC button), and brake launch from ~ 1,400rpm without slamming on the gas WOT...get traction and then go, go, go!

Oh, it's you (dr325i) again? Dude, your 325i couldn't beat a base Dodge Neon let alone a Dodge Charger SRT-8, so why are you starting in with us in our 335i's? The OP just asked for some insight and a little advice, so I thought I'd offer him some since I've had some experience running with a 300C SRT-8 and a Jeep GC SRT-8...of course, my 335i is PROcede-equipped so it was a bit different.

They have the r/t (345hp) version for the highway patrol and regular street cops have the sxt (v6 250hp). They are not many around. They are faster than the caprices, crown vics and impalas. However, I don't think they warrant fear IMO.

thanx guys for all ur support and suggestions... i dont mean any disrespect to any srt8 owners... this race has nothing to do with both cars atleast for me...i personally think the charger srt8 is plenty fast with the numbers it's generating...i guess the 335 is slower but how slow is what i want to find out...
