The worst thing is at night and they are coming up on you like b!tches and you THINK they are cops. . . The next time that happens I am slamming my brakes and blocking them until my fun is over.

Crown vics are nothing really. Try driving around in Hawaii, the cops there use their own personal vehicles for enforcement.. so you'll see Mustang GTs, Charger SRT-8s, etc that will have the light mounted inside on the dash or the rear deck. And you don't usually notice until they pull someone over. it's actually pretty rare that you see people doing much more than 65mph over there.

I recall Top Gear Special - America Road Trip where Hamster visited a dealership selling ex-government vehicles...and they are literally cheap, like 1700-2000.

But in California, correct me if I'm wrong, all the government vehicles has a different licence plate than civilian vehicles. Something like "Exempt" with just numbers on them, and no Month/Year sticker too.

I hate the fact that unmarked cop cars are allowed to do traffic pulls, although I'm fine with the idea of unmarked cars used for undercover work. There should be no reason why you should pull over for a traffic stop done by an unmarked car. Cases have been reported where stops performed by unmarked cars are done by civilians who pretend to be police officers. I've read articles where victims have been raped or had their car stolen.

Haha, I had a friend that had one of these in highschool. Still had the cage in the back and everything. These cars are beasts, unfortunately they remove the special cop ECU tune before they sell them (I think its just a Superchips Tuner though). They're built like tanks. I remember this time we were out in West Texas. It's the middle of nowhere. We were stopped at a stop sign waiting for a car to pass. They were flying, I mean really hauling ass. As they flew by we could see the passenger was the local Sheriff and he was holding his badge to the window. He thought we were cops too.

Yea, in NJ, police cars usually have "MUNICIPAL" on the bottom of the plate.

Wasn't this a safety concern about 15 years ago in NYS? No unmarked state troops if I'm not mistaken. They had men driving them preying upon women.
